  1. I know that DC emu scene is far from being perfect, but why in the earth the abandoned NullDC is way faster than Demul? It's like 2 days that I'm trying to tweak Demul to try to get a decent playable speed to run DC games at Internal Resolution 2x, but I just get slowdowns or not-so smooth framerate. Also I have to disable the Autosort and V-sync(this one it's not a big deal actually) and disabling the first one causes horrible glitches in HUD graphics and generally 2D graphics. I wouldn't mind about the native resolution, but I owned a real DC and the resolution wasn't so bad as the one you see when you put Demul with 1x IR. From what I read on the Internet many people are able to run games smoothly in Demul with 2x IR (and even higher IR) so why can't I? I know that demul needs a very powerful pc, but I thought that my pc with i7-6700, 20GB and GTX960 would be at least acceptable to run this emulator with decent graphics settings. Am I wrong? On the other side I was quite shocked to see how fast can run games an old DC emulator such as NullDC... I really need your both opinions and suggestions!

Hi guys, this is probably a real silly question, but I'm actually unable to use some handled overlays in Retroarch because there's no way to change the values in Custom Viewport Width/Height after you put the Integer Scale ON. First of all, is there a way a fast way to change the values with numbers in RA instead of having to use the arrow keys?Why Can't I enter those values with keyboard? It's so time-consuming to adjust value numbers, but I'm sure I'm doing it in the dumbest way... LOL! Also the real issue is that when I set the Integer Scale to ON (as requested by the DS overlay for example) I can just enter a few values such as 1-1000-2200 and so on. Can you please guys help me? I've tried to google it but I was unable to found anything...

  4. Hi Guys! I've just noticed that in LB there's an option to filter the games by Platform Categories, but I didn't understand if you can do that in BigBox. It seems like there's no option to display that filter in BigBox.

  6. I don't know if I put a clear title for the topic, but anyway I'll try to make my point. On emumovies I see that there are specific media sets for Emus or arcade systems such as Zinc, Namco22, Taito Classic, Data East and so on. So, first of all, my question is: how you can extract the relative emu or arcade system romset in no-time from a complete mame romset? I guess you can actually use ctrlmame with a dat, am I right? The only issue is that I don't remember how to do that... Other question, does it make sense to subdivide your arcade romset into specific arcade or system romsets? From my point of view I like the idea because that's what most people do with neogeo and cps roms (after all they're all arcade systems). The downside is that you'll have duplicated copies of some roms that you already have in MAME (I never remove any roms from the main MAME romset) and that of all the specific are displayed in the main BigBox Menu. It would be cool if the specific arcade systems could be displayed after selecting the main category Arcade just like they were organized in subfolders. If I'm not wron, actually you can't do that with LB right now, but it would be quite cool to have that kind of feature.
  7. Thanks for your feedback guys! I used to use Winuae since it was the most accurate and "friendly" Amiga emulator in the past, but gosh...how things have changed! That FS-UAE is the bomb. Auto-configured games, awesome UI, super-user friendly, best video options (in fact I didn't need to setup anything and the games displayed correctly in fullscreen), in-game menu (that you can access easily with an Xbox360controller and save states with no issue) and so on. It can even provide a full Amiga DB with pics so that you can look all different Amiga games (very useful since I have a bunch of games which I don't know how they were called). Really thanks for the suggestion, it's definitely the ultimate Amiga emulator! I agree although I'm not a N64 fan and just use that system to emulate must-have N64 games as Mario64 and so on. However I got the feeling that GLupeN64 was a quite fast and nice emulator for N64. How about the Dreamcast and Saturn scene? I use Demul for DC although is pretty sad how the dreamcast scene emulation is quite dead. Is that another Dreamcast emulator worth to try? About Saturn is Yababuse the only way to emulate this system? Actually I didn' try yet, but I'm about to test the Saturn emulation scene so any suggestion is accepted
  8. Hi guys, I'm quite confused about Demul video settings and its two video plugins. It seems like DX11 plugin is a better options to run games smoothly and to avoid 2D graphics glithces, but it doesn't allow to set internal resolution and it gives you audio and video slow-downs randomly. On the other side DX11old plugin let you set internal resolution and it seems to run games smootlhy, but it renders some very nasty 2D sprites with horrible glitches (so 2D elements in Crazy Taxi are displayed with glicthes and so the 2D sprites in Capcom VS Snk). Also is it true that games doesn't suffer slow-downs when you run them for a few times in Demul(I read it somewhere)? And what about video settings?Is it better to disable or enable some hacks?
  9. Thanks a lot the main issue seems to be fixed now. However I don't know if you guys have noticed this minor issue, but Bigbox seems not be responsive at all when you've just launched it. I try to scroll the video menu but nothing happens, it's like it gets freezed for a few seconds. Anyway after that the menu becomes really responsive (you guys seem to have also improved scrolling speed...awesome!) that's why is not a big issue, but a minor issue.
  10. Hi, I don't know if it's actually related to the new LB 7.3 update, but I'm experiencing a quite laggy menu on Launchbox. When you try to spin the wheel menu sometimes it stops while other times it does nothing when you press up to scroll. It's kinda weird...never had that kinda of issue with LB.
  11. I'm afraid I didn't make quite clear my point of view. I've already checked all of themes and frontend options in LB and I've already buyed a LB license since I thought it was the best choice among all of the others FEs and according to my needs. LB seems to be way more updated, powerful, easy to use and with a great community. I'm grown-up and unfortunately I don't have enough time to spend a lot of time to configure a Frontend. That's why HS couldn't never be my choice. That's a good point and that's one of the reasons why I chose LB, but I just don't understand why such a powerful FE can't provide a quite simple and responsive layout such as I saw in HS videos. Bartop and Minimanl HD themes are somewhat closes to the main HS layout, but it's not enough. Actually it's not about being similar HS since it's not like they invented a wheel system or those kind of graphics layouts. Just by way of examples, if you have a look at this HS video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y4q4aazS-OE you can clearly see how the wheel disappears after selecting a game or platform and how different platforms uses different themes. Also the most interested part is when the user browses the Snes and Genesis roms and every simple gameplay footage (so it's not a cinematic gameplay video) is being shown with a specific platform layout plus and image of the relative game cover. That makes gameplay videos somehow 'cinematic' even if they're not. I just you didn't include such options and features yet, but I hope you will think about include them in upcoming releases.   12. I know guys, this is just another one "oh no, another HS vs LB topic"... sorry about that! It's not meant to be a Frontend-war topic, I just would like to know the big cons and pros of HS/LB according to you. I'm not in the mood to configure another front-end and HS also seems quite annoying to be configured. I'm quite satisfied with LB, so don't worry about that! However I was very impressed to see some HS themes and how smooth and solid seems to be its wheel menu. Thematic themes and even wheels can be also used in LB so it's not really a big deal, but It feels like HS uses multi-themes and in games menu you can use customized graphics to show gameplay the video (if I'm not wrong). Those seem to be the 2 features that I would envy to HS. I really like the idea to be able to use different themes for different platforms and especially to use customized graphics to show gameplay videos. I'm fine with using cinematic theme videos for platforms, but I don't think there's need to download cinematic gameplay videos when you could achieve that with customized graphics. There are too many games to download some many cinematic gameplay videos, it would be easier to achieve that with customized graphics and multi-themes so you can just use your gameplay videos and change the way are being displayed in the Frontend. By the way, are you planning to add such features in upcoming LB updates?It would be awesome!:) Merry Xmas to all by the way!
  13. I know it may silly question(or maybe it's actually a stupid question), but where do I find the missing media I'm unable to find through LB or Emumovies? There are several platform where some games lack cover media, videos or screenshot. Just by way of examples in CPS2 platform I'm missing some clear boxes and logos which is quite strange...
  14. Hi guys! I've already made a decent library in LB and now I would like to discuss with all of you which emulator is the best one for it's relative platform. Personally I switched to Retroarch cores for every platform that can be emulated through RA cores. It's not about real accurancy of the emulators, but about convenience in having the same options and more options in a good emulator. At first I hated RA, but now I realized that it's very convenient since by way of the examples I can use shaders for every platform, cheats, I can exit from RA with the controller and so on. Here's the emulators or RA cores I've chosed for my platforms: Turbografx-16 - During 'all of life' I've been using Magic Engine (it worked flawlessly), but due to limited graphics option and outdated GUI I've switched to Medanafen_supegrafx core Snes - I've been in love with Znes, but just like above: outdated and limited graphic options. Now I'm using snes9x_libretro core Genesis - genesis_plus_gx_libretro - I've been surprised on how genesis emu-scene is quite dead...standalone emulators are so outdated... Gamegear- picodrive_libretro NeoGeo CPS1-2 - fbalpha2012_neogeo_libretro core 3D arcades - I actually have no options...so I must use standalone emulators such as Demul, model2, model3 Wii - Dolphin seems to be the best (maybe the only) choice. Does it also works for GC? Nintendo DS - DSemume was a good emulator, but now I switched to his relative RA core: desmume_libretro.dll N64 - I'm not actually that sure about N64 best emu or core. It's quite impressive how N64 emulation it's far from being real perfect. I was using project64, but now I switched off (once again) to RA cores such as mupen64plus_libretro and glupen64_libretro. The last one seems to be quite fast although mupen is the main choice for now. Since I know very little about N64 emulation, can you guys reccomend the best core or tweaks? Mame - I'm using Mame64 'till now, but I'll be switching to any RA Mame core due to the limited option of Mame itself. Any good core to suggest? Commodore Amiga - I still need to setup this platform, but I've always used WinUAE. However I think it's more convenient to use the relative RA core. Do you agree?
  15. Ok, first of all sorry for the horrible title, but I wasn't able to find a decent title for the topic! Simple question: with Retroarch I'm able to exit from RA itself using a X360 controller so I can go back to Bigbox while I'm in the sofa. On dolphin emulator you can do it too, I've just assign a special command through dolphin itself by assigning l3+select to exit from the emulator, but how can I achieve that with Emulators such as Demul, Model3 and so on?
  16. Unfortunately seems to be a general issue for all the laptops which have mixed graphic cards (intel and Geforce GTX 96X). It's like a general bug that both MS and Nvidia know and they don't give a damn to fix it. However - hoping it's true - I was able to 'fix' this rendering issue by desactivating the V-sync option in Nvidia Control Panel (by the way, what's the use of triple buffer I've never understood it...). I don't think it's the best option to fix this issue, but it works (lucky me). However I don't know if it's just my imagination, but I feel like RA games run better or 'smoothly' when the v-sync was on. With no sync they run at 60.2 fps, but it feels like they run less smoothly and 'slower' somehow.
  17. Ok, that definitely worked, but I can't believe it's useless since RA Scummvm core doesn't seem to support savestates....How can it be possible? It's such an epic fail...
  18. Here are my laptop spec: I7 -6700HQ 20gb Ram Win10 Geforce GTX960M. The issue doesn't occur on Steam Games (aka native pc games) or in other emulators. I've tried to switch on/off v-sync gpu-sync or remove shaders, but the issue won't seem to fix. It gets better, but you can still notice the diagonal tearing. Also I don't like the way games on Retroarch with v-sync turned off. Even though there's no frame-dropping the games don't seem to run smoothly.
  19. Is there a way to launch ScummVM games through Retroarch Core in LB? It would be even enough to just click on a scummvm game on LB and that only redirects you to the main ScummVM retroarch menu. I guess you can launch ScummVM games with Retroarch core directly, but it should be possible to let them run at least the main screen of the core. Am I right? It's that ScummVM Retroarch core it's the only way for me to fix that annoying and frustraing screen issues. I definitely changed my mind about retroarch, it definetely makes things easier...

Hi guys, I've alwasy knew horizontal tearing, but it seems like on my laptop I'm suffering a weird Diagonal Screen Tearing when usign Retroarch as you can see from the attached image (found it on the web actually since I wasn't unable to do a screenshot of the issue :S). Do you know if I have to change some settings in retroarch video options or it may be something related to my videocard drivers?
  21. Unfortunately I've already tried that but somehow it doesn't work. If I select Opengl the screen becomes way too big (the image overlaps) and if I try to use OpenGL(no filtering) a part of the image is being cut-off... Update: I've tried once again, but I give up...there's definitely something wrong. If you don't use OpenGL a windows 10 notification pop-ups saying that ScummVM isn't using the right resolution(1920X1080) while if I set OpenGL the screen is being set to 1920x1080 but it doesn't stretch right.... that's so frustrating...
  22. It seems like there's no such option in ScummVM so I have no idea on how can I stretch out the image.
  23. Hi guys, I'm struggling to run ScummVM in fullscreen 16:9 so that games are fully displayed in the whole screen, but after several tries I gave up. If use opengl driver, the games are displayed in 16:9, but a part of the image is out of the screen (...). Also pixel aspect ratio doesn't seem to help. Is an issue related to scummvm or should i change some option in windows 10?
  24. Uh, I didn't know that. I use retroarch on Android with a Frontend since is the most effective way or only way to emulate some systems, but I'm not a fan honestly.
