  1. That's a pity; it would be a great addition to Launchbox. I have it set up in 3d box mode, and for some systems the angle of the box is quite acute (e.g. SNES), necessitating a larger thumbnail in order to see the artwork clearly. May I also ask if it is possible to change the angle of the 3d box artwork, or is this set? I don't know why the SNES artwork is at such an angle. A few occasional games are at a more upright angle, but most lie quite flat.
  2. It is possible to have the game icon/box art thumbnail size set differently for each platform?
  3. Thanks for your input DOS76. My hardware is a 2016 MacBook Pro (Intel i7, 16GB Ram, 1TB SSD). I wouldn't have expected any scroll delay. Regarding your comment of scrolling through your list in 3 swipes - I can do something similar - i.e. there is no reduction to the actual speed of the scrolling once started; it's just the initial response to the user input that is delayed.
  4. I've noticed a slight scroll delay when scrolling through the games list. It's small (about 0.2 seconds) but enough to be noticeable and to make the app feel a bit less responsive. I wondered if it was to do with me running Launchbox on a Mac via Parallels (Windows VM), though other apps within Parallels (such as MS Edge) don't exhibit this scroll delay. To be clear, I don't mean a delay in the rendering of the thumbnails, I mean a delay in the scrolling action itself. Is there anything I can do here? Thanks.
  5. Thanks guys, I stupidly assumed that it was a setting within LaunchBox. Now using Sumatra PDF.
  6. I recall that when I first opened a manual, I was asked which app I wanted to use to open it. I chose the web browser, but now I would rather the other choice. I cannot for the life of me find out how to change it! Any help appreciated!

  8. Thanks SentaiBrad, I figured out how to rename a platform though it seemed to add it as a second platform with some duplication of games. Your comments above clarify matters and I now seem to have the naming thing sorted.
  9. Many thanks SentaiBrad for your reply. Perhaps I should have stated - I am using Launchbox rather than Bigbox, and did purchase Premium. I am somewhat surprised that you had not heard mention of this issue before. I suppose it is an aesthetic issue - as I am running Launchbox on OSX via the Parallels app, I am keen for the aesthetic element to be there. I had been using Openemu on the Mac which is aesthetically very smooth and slick, though Launchbox is far more versatile and has more features. Of course, Launchbox on the Mac would be ideal though I understand that this may be some time off yet! How would I know what game is selected? A valid point indeed. Personally, as I always have the info panel open on the right side of the screen I could easily tell by looking at that. I understand that if this panel is not open (and many users may prefer it this way) then it may be a challenge to know what game is selected. One way of looking at it is - if you don't know what game is selected, then just select the one you want to select! A more considered approach might be to tone down the selection graphic. Openemu uses a very thin blue line around the selected game box art and it looks very clean. The "problem" with Launchbox in this regard is that the box art is not always square; for example it could be a 3D box, and so the selection line would not sit flush with the edges of the box. Having said that, a thin line around the perimeter of the box art would still be very much preferable to a big blocky grey square. Another approach - sure, keep the big blocky square for indicating the selected item. But why is this square required when the mouse pointer is just hovering over an item. You know the mouse pointer is there, so you don't need the big grey square to confirm it! I hope that I am making myself understandable and that you can see some merit in my suggestions. Oh and by the way, great app - I use HS on another machine and Launchbox is certainly a lot easier to set up!
  10. When moving the mouse cursor over games in the selection window, or selecting a game, a big grey box appears around the game. This looks quite ugly and detracts from the illusion of the pictures representing physical media. Is there any way I can turn this off, or at least make it a lot smaller or less obtrusive? Thanks.
  11. The platform menu on the left of the screen is a handy way to choose your platform. However, some platform names (e.g. "Nintendo Entertainment System") are quite long. I don't want to truncate the platform names, but I also don't want the platform window to take up lots of space which could be used by the games. The sensible thing would therefore be to change the platform name to "NES". I cannot figure out how to do this simple thing & would appreciate some help! Thanks.
