I'm not sure if I'll use this but I will certainly try it out. I am running Kodi on a FireTV and an Nvidia Shield streaming from my NAS. Since they bot have game pads I'll try it out for the Nintendo emulators.
Thanks for the post.
quite welcome

Sadly this is probably connection issues. If you keep having trouble, you can just download it from the site instead and install it over top.

Do not post links to copyrighted material such as roms and bios.
didnt know whether to or not wont happen again

Video removed because it contained links to copyrighted material.
1) Download FCEUX, it's an emulator that supports all forms of the 8-Bit Nintendo console including the Famicom Disk System.
2) GO TO THIS LINK - LINK REMOVED - Download the zip, extract it, you'll get DISKSYS.ROM. The ONLY file that works is DISKSYS.ROM (8kb). Put it in a folder (named something like "FDS Bios")
3) Open FCEUX, go to "Config" and click "Directories...", hit the Browse button next to FDS Bios Rom, choose the folder you made.
4) NOW you will be able to open your FDS game rome and it WILL WORK!
IF THE LINK TO DISKSYS.ROM (8KB) ENDS UP BROKEN ONE DAY, CONTACT ME AND I WILL RE-UPLOAD IT RIGHT AWAY!!!!!
GO HERE TO GET YOUR FDS GAME ROMS
LINK REMOVED
REMEMBER THE BIOS THEY HAVE THERE IS NOT THE CORRECT ONE. USE THE LINK IN STEP 2!!right after I set up Nestopia I found this! hope it helps!

So, that user, if it's even using footage from the emulator, chose a game that is EXTREMELY light to emulate. So it's probably one of a handful of games that even plays, but if that's the sound I hear in the back, I can hear tons of clipping, meaning audio isn't even working. They could also have an extremely powerful PC, brute forcing their way in. Even then, they could just be using editing tricks and replacing the video. It's also not running good by any means, lots of suttering. Just because this person didn't call it Alpha or Beta software though, doesn't mean it isn't, and you don't need to be a Sony person to know that an emulator of very powerful hardware doesn't happen in less than a year. PS1 and N64 are still struggling, an OG Xbox emulator pretty much doesn't exist, a 360 emulator doesn't exist, and the PS3 emulator is only this far ahead because of very very passionate people. However, it also helps that people have direct level access to the PS3 hardware, making it easier to reverse engineer. That's why 3DS emulation is progressing faster than expected too, they have kernel level access. Wii U emulation is progressing fast because it uses the same architecture as a Gamecube and Wii, which are also both blown wide open, and so was the Wii U. Browsing their websites or posts on the subject do reveal that compatibility is super low and that most games don't even boot, let alone be playable.
thx for all the input i am quite happy with retro games over new school any day

I had the same issue crop up on me. To fix it I had to set the delay back to zero and work from there. Having a high end computer the 18 seconds shown in the tutorial was way too long and gave the appearance of continuous looping. Starting from zero I worked up until I got close at 6 seconds. This however wasn't quite what I needed for the video I was using, but I didn't see a way to select anything but whole numbers. The trick to fine tuning it turned out to be opening the xml file that controls bigbox. You will find the file "BigBoxSettings.xml" in the Launchbox\Data folder of your install. At the very bottom of the xml file is the following line.
<MinimumStartupVideoPlaybackTimeMilliseconds>6500</MinimumStartupVideoPlaybackTimeMilliseconds>
You will notice that you can set the delay value in milliseconds allowing you pretty much infinite control over the delay. Just remember to save the file each time you edit the value, and to exit and restart BigBox.
I hope this helps.

too funny it's exactly what I did to fix the issue

A usable PS3 emulator is several years away.
By usable I mean an emulator that doesn't rely on a $5000 PC and runs more than a small handful of games at a shitty framerate.
Then you have to take the games into consideration, they are on Blurays and they are quite large to download if you can even find them.
I recommend anyone wanting to play PS3 that badly to go buy one and buy the games second hand, it's extremely affordable right now with everyone selling theirs off for PS4s and XBones.
im all microsoft! just thought it was neat to have in launchbox...

Here is a guide to setup the ROM Collection Browser on your Kodi device.
Before doing this you need:Emulator on your device/computer
ROMs
Without the above this guide is useless, but I will presume you have them as that is why you have landed on this page. The ROM Collection Browser is, as the name suggests, just a browser. It scans your ROM library and allows you to pick which ROM you want to launch in your external emulator.
First we need to add some sources to your Kodi File Manager. These are local sources for your Emulator and your ROMs. If they are located in the same place then you will only need to add one source.
Select SYSTEM > File Manager
Select Add Source
Select Browse
Navigate to the folder that contains your emulator and press enter or OK. Then name the source Emulator & select OK
If your ROMs are in a different location repeat the process but in the final step name the source ROMs. This just makes it easier to locate the emulator and ROMs later.
Go back to your Home Screen
Select SYSTEM
Select Add-ons
Select Search
Type rom collection & select Done
Select the Script - Rom Collection Browser result
Select Install
The Rom Collection Browser Script & Rom Collection Browser Service will now install
Everything you need is now installed. Now we need to move on to setting up the browser so it knows where the ROMs and emulator are locatedGo back to your Home Screen
Select PROGRAMS
Select Rom Collection Browser
Select Yes when asked if you want to create a Config File
Select Scrape game info and artwork offline
You must now select what type of ROMs you have. Mine are SNES ROMs so I will select SNES, choose whatever is suitable for you. You can create more of these later if you have ROMs for lots of platforms
Your File Manager will now open and you have to navigate to the directory containing your Emulator, this is why I named the source Emulator to make it easy
Navigate to where your Emulator is located and select it. If using Windows the file will end with .exe
Select Done in the next screen that appears, do not make any changes
We now need to tell Kodi where the ROMs are located. Select ROMs if you created a separate source for your ROMs
Navigate to the location of your ROM files & select OK
You now need to tell Kodi what type of files to look for. For SNES it is *.zip, *.smc, *.sfc. You will need to find out what it is for other platforms
Your File Manager window will open again, select Cancel
You will now be asked if you want to '..add another Rom Collection?'. If you have ROMs that are from a different platform you would select Yes and repeat the process until finished. We will select No for this example
The Import Games games window will now open. You can leave it on the default settings & select Import Games
The add-on will now start importing the games. This can take a long time if you have a lot
When finished you will now see all your games listed. Select any game you want to play and it will launch in your external emulator (if you have set everything correctly). I recommend setting your emulator to launch in full screen as it looks better
Hopefully this guide was easy enough to follow. If you have any issues leave a message below.credits: MJD

Are any games working for you at all?
Does the emulator work without Launchbox?
It's been my experience with C64 roms when I used to have a huge sized collection like that... that very many games do not work.
I've since stripped my rom collection to under 100 games that I know I will actually play....and that they actually work.
All of my files are T64 and D64... I don't recall doing anything special to get any particular type of file to work.
If you have the emulator running in Windows you could simply drag a rom file into the Winvice from Explorer.
From Launchbox there should be no issues....
i have launchbox on my laptop and my console il test it on both

It's very alpha and not something that is supposed to be daily use or even consistent use. Hell, Wii U emulation is much much farther than this currently and still considered Alpha, so this is even technically worse off. To get it fully up and running is very hard currently and most games don't work.
best tut i found on the web and the fact he got it running makes me more anxious... he has no alpha version so idk how i got one...

have you tried to remove the video and then if it starts without the video go into the options and change your video playback engine. Then drop the video back in and see if that fixes it for you.
will do and get back to you... just freezes now doesn't open at all and when does is stuck on stupid freezes! @DOS76

That's exactly why your media is disappearing. Every time you change a system name, then all the media is still in a folder labeled for the old platform. You'll need to go in to Music, Manuals, Video and Images to rename the old platform name to the new platform name, restart LB and all should be good.
thank you much sir

I have googled, I have researched, have studied, have watched tons of tuts, I have tested etc... If anyone from this community has this emu successfully running I'd love to know how the hell you did it!
Off topic: my sega dream cast emu works fine just one small issue... days ago it started up only booting GTA 2? no matter what game I launch from LB it only plays gta 2 why and how do fix this issue...
fyi for those few always complaining and moaning about google etc... unlike most ppl if I have a fix for someone I am going to share it with them! I am not going to send them elsewhere when myself can assist them.
have thousands of video tuts and tens of thousands of written tuts teaching and sharing what I know and learn to keep people from going through the chaos I went through to get to that point.
20 years ago I would read/watch tuts and it was always jumbled or missing small but damn important info. That's why I started doing tuts. Mine are dummy proof and very detailed. Again if I can help IM not going to send you elsewhere to get it.
Back on topic: each of the video tuts i watched about ps3 emulation are well done just different outcomes on my end, so maybe someone is not adding or saying something I need to see or hear to fix it. tuts are how got each emu running perfectly.
only defeat was commodore 64 and playstation 3 emus... well dreamcast if can't get it to boot all my games not just GTA 2

You'll get out of it proportionately to what you put into it, like anything else.
I've already done the actually hard work of researching, testing, experimenting, more researching, more testing, digging through obscure multi-page forum posts and Github and Amiga programming wikis until the wee hours of the morning... and then assembled all of that in a precise, step-by-step package that walks you through everything you need to know and do, including all the things that you might need to know and do even if you don't realize it yet. Short of me coming over to people's houses and setting it up for them, there's not a whole lot more I can do. If watching and following instructions in a video is too much work, then by all means don't. Only you can determine whether or not it's worth it to you.
i just need to stop doing so much at once.. research is how i evolved to begin with... i'll come back to commodore 64 once i find a break.. i haven't slept in a week trying to get this console ready for today.

That all sounds fine although... how are you planning on handling the Amiga stuff? Those aren't as simple as just dumping everything in like the other platforms.
If you need help on Amiga, take a look at the tutorial I did over here.
i have over 2500 amiga games and 17k+ c64 i at least wanted all my amiga on lb and 6k of m c64 as well. this sounds ugh man... i did better when i made emus to run amiga/c64/tbfx16 etc on my xbox... wasn't this difficult at all actually just came to me... just now tamed Mame! and got it working gah...

CONGRATULATIONS LB 7.7!!!
in News and Updates
Posted
Just wanted to stop in and give credit where it's do, first off this is an amazing forum and community and the admins are beast at response times and assistance always! The work you all are doing here is beyond and Brad personal shot for all your dedicated hard work and compassion you put forth in all this.
Congrats on updating to 7.7 I am now adding Dos games thanks to another one of Brad;s awesome video tuts. Even if I never get commodore 64 working lol I am quite proud of the setup I have thus far [video demo coming soon] Launchbox/Big Box are 2 of the most iconic creations in the gaming world hands down! [wipes drool]
I hate to say this has taken over my entire life... I mean if I didn't work from home I would be in retro-gaming withdrawal elsewhere... My fiance though gets no-more of my attention she is quite understanding at what I am trying to accomplish!
Again amazing job, thank you all for all that you do, contribute, create, assist with etc. I will make some themes as soon as I can catch my breath!
