  1. The "additional apps" feature doesn´t wait to end for launching the game (Using execute the app before the game and the wait for exit option) Only waits 15-20 seconds to launch a rom.

Example: You create a .bat file with some text "Instructions for the game" and a "pause" and the end. So, the user needs to press a key in order to close the message and open the game. But it doesn´t work, it only waits the same 15-20 seconds, and doesn´t matter if the app is not closed previously.

  2. I am totally against the "politically correct society" of modern times, but this is not the case. I don´t want to be politically correct. I only want to say, that, putting biblic verses in a Game´s frontend program maybe is not the right place to do it.

Tolerant with other beliefs? What about to being tolerant with atheism? I respect if some people are religious. You love Jesus? Ok, but please, don´t come to my house and start a dull monologue trying to convert me to christianity. Don´t stop me while i´m walking through the street to do the same. Don´t fill my mailbox with religious propaganda, if I want to believe in Jesus, I do it by my own.

I don´t know where´s the problem to put simply a button for enable/disable this unwanted feature for the people who don´t want it. You talked about you´re not used to "Being politically correct" but you´re too the first person to talk about "To be tolerant with other beliefs" this is contradictory.

  3. Like I said, i'm not offended if Jason Carr is a religious person, so, please, don't put words in my mouth. And I only requested a button to enable/disable that bible verses, which is extremely easy to do.

There are people like you who don't care if there are religious messages in Launchbox? Ok. But there's too people like me, (As you can see i'm not the only one in the forums) who think that Launchbox is not the place for this religious messages.

  4. I figured that there are some biblic verses in launchbox, (Help>about) i don´t have any problem if Jason Carr is a religious person. But Launchbox is not a church to predicate, it´s a game´s launcher, (and yes, I pay for it). So please, consider to remove this religious propaganda, it´s very offensive for me at least (And i´m not the only one as I see: https://forums.launchbox-app.com/topic/33647-secular-version-of-launchbox/)

PS: I don't want to be rude, so, sorry if it sounds like that, English is not my mother language, and I don´t know how to express myself better. I consider that at least, must be added an option to enable/disable this if you want.

  5. This problem is from far away, but launchbox team doesn´t solved the problem yet (I don´t know if they know about it)

Basically, if you use the additional app section, you can launch a program, a batch file, etc, before the game opens.

The problem here, is that, even if you use the  "Wait for exit" option, the rom is launched after 15-20 seconds, it doesn´t wait for the user to close it. This is really annoying, because, for example, i launch .txt files with some instructions to read. And the rom doesn´t wait to close the window.

Alright guys, let's stop fighting back and forth. I can certainly understand where people are coming from in saying that I should not have sent the email. In fact, I'd by lying if I said I didn't have any regrets. I thought long and hard about it, but at this point at least I'm coming to the conclusion that perhaps I should not have sent it out to everyone. My apologies for that, as the last thing I want to do is make people feel uncomfortable or divide the user base.

The fact of the matter is I don't make all the right decisions all the time. I'm a good developer (at least I hope) but this is certainly a learning experience for me. I don't think anything will be detrimental, but I do need to share that I haven't been overly confident in the decision I just made to send the email out to everyone. Thanks everybody for your feedback. :)

Don´t worry Jason, you did the right thing. Maybe is not too much, but you have my sword.

@LuismaSP89 Yes, if you wait for next year's Black Friday, you should be able to upgrade to a forever license at a discount. There's no guarantee that we'll do the same deal next year, but most likely we will. :)

Ok, i think about that, thanks for your quick reply ; )

  8. Hi! Today i purchased the 1 year licence for Launchbox premium. (For 10$) in black friday.

Someone knows if i wait to the next black friday, i can purchase the "Forever-update license" ?  (Because you save 10$ in this way (10$+20$ = 30$ for a forever license) Or this doesn´t works...

    Thanks in advance!

Actually, launchbox only can arrange games by using:    View>Arrange by

This changes the method to arrange all games of all platforms, for example by genre, title, release date, etc.

But it would be great if we could arrange by different platforms.

    For example:

    Nes games: Arranged by year

    PSX games: Arranged by Genre

    Gamecube games: Arranged by Title.

PC games: Arranged by (Custom field)

I didn´t find an option to do this, so, i think it would be great feature to add in a future update :P

Ok, i posted a request in the bickbucket´s section. Sorry for duplicate.

I found the problem. Since the 0.186, mameui, when is used with launchbox, can´t load the config stored in the .ini folder, and loads the config from the main folder. So this problem can be solved by copy and paste the .ini folder content in the main folder. Maybe this can helps other users with the same problem.

  12. 11 minutes ago, lordmonkus said:

I wish I had an answer for you, the last time I used a UI version of Mame was 151 or 154. Right now im currently using 186 command line version and there is no issues reading the mame.ini file and its settings.

Yes, and you´re right, using command line MAME works ok. The problem is with MAMEUI. So, MAMEUI is broken in Launchbox with version 0.186 and after... what a shame :(

  13. 19 minutes ago, lordmonkus said:

Launchbox doesn't change the settings or ini files whatsoever.

And since I don't use the UI version of Mame I am unsure of what would cause this issue for you. I use the command line version and it works perfectly without any extra work. I do know that @Zombeaver has used the UI version without issues but mainly he uses the Retroarch Mame core now.

Yes, i know Launchbox doesn´t change ini files of MAME or something else, but is strange that it works with all versions before the 0.186. That´s the reason for me to say that maybe the 0.186 introduced a change that Launchbox can´t manage.

  14. Hi, i´ll try to explain this issue as easily as possible:

There´s a big problem since MAME 0.186 (MAMEUI in my case) when you open a game using launchbox, the game launches as expected, but it seems that it doesn´t apply the config of MAME and it opens with default settings.

For example, if you configure MAME to use a custom filter (hq4x, super eagle, xbrz, etc) and you don´t want to maintain the aspect ratio of 4:3 (I use stretch) this works as expected if you launch the game through the MAME application (MAMEUI64.exe) the filter is working and all your settings the same. But if you launch the game through the Launchbox, the game is launched, but all with default settings.

I don´t know why this is happening, but it happens if you use Launchbox (No matters what version) and MAMEUI since 0.186 (Tested also with 0.187, 0.188, 0.189, and 0.190 - the latest)

I used different MAME romsets for each version, of course, the correct romset update that the MAME version needs.

All is working ok if use 0.185 version of MAMEUI and backwards (Tested with 0.185, 0.184, 0.183, and 0.182) all of these works as expected.

Any ideas? Maybe the 0.186 version of MAMEUI introduced a change that cause this problem with launchbox :S

  15. Hi everyone! I´m trying to use launchbox to execute PS3 games with Rpcs3.

I add the rom using the path of the EBOOT.BIN file, under "dev_hdd0\game\Name of the game\PS3_GAME\USRDIR\EBOOT.BIN" but this doesn´t work.

If i open that bin file using the RPCS3 emulator all works ok, but if i point that path with launchbox to open with the RPCS3 emulator, nothing happens, it shows "Failed to mount disc directory for the disc game (Code of the game)"

Does anyone knows how to launch rpcs3 games with Launchbox? There is a command line parameter or something?

    Thanks in advance!

@LuismaSP89 Whew so this has been a fun exercise for me haha. I've posted a video below that details what I've figured out. I believe that just a minor tweak to your batch file (replacing the deprecated sleep command with a timeout command) and tweaking the additional application dialogue will get you on track. On my setup, this worked in LB and BB and calls my game without issue. I'll note however, that you may very well have to edit each game individually to get that batch working. So while I'm committed to trying to solve your issue, I'm can nearly guarantee you that if you had used Retroarch and a good core, you would be happier with the end result overall.

Also, obligatory warning. You are writing to your registry. Make restore points and be safe here. It's the last thing you want to have issues with trust me on that one. I'm excited to see if this works for you, so please let me know once you've tested.

Don´t worry, it´s only a line in the registry, only to modify if the controller that uses the Epsxe is the digital controller of the PSX or the Dualshock, because certain games doesn´t work with this last one.

I use two .batch, the first enables the digital controller, and the second the Dualshock, it´s very useful "At least for me xD" because i use the "digital batch" before runing the two or three games i got that uses digital controller, and the "Dualshock batch" to restore it when i close the game, using the "after" option in launchbox. So, i don´t need to edit all games, only these two or three games to use the digital pad with him.

I tested many emulators and many plugin pads, the pokopom, the lilypad, etc. And this is the only option i found. And i want to use the epsxe, retroarch doesn´t like me.

By the way, i must tell you that your solution of "timeout t /10" works like a charm :D seriously THANK YOU.

I´m an idiot, because, i put the timeout option many times ago, but i laked the "Wait for exit" option.

I don´t know if editing the registry is the best way for solve my problem, but is the solution i found, and i promise that i don´t broke my OS, i´m network admin and i know more or less what i´ve done xD.

A thousand of thanks again Zeromod, i hope this can solves the problem for more people looking for delay the launch of an emulator : )

Sooo I'm an idiot. I just sat here and did exactly what you don't need, I delayed the batch lol. I was thinking about it while showering and had a duh moment. Give me a sec and I'll see if the AHK functionality in LB lets me just reverse the order here and delay the start of the emulator. Sorry for the run around Luis I'm running on little sleep today. Worst case scenario and we can literally just set AHK as the emulator and let the script handle importing the reg file and launching EPSXE for you. YAY CAFFEINE!

xD don´t worry. Yes, it delays the batch, and i need to delay the emulator launch. By the way thank you for your interest : )  and i hope you sleep well.

The batch file shouldn't have anything to do with window size. Open EPSXE by itself and set it to fullscreen and it should remain that way moving forward. You don't want to paste exactly what I've put here, you will need to update the last line to point to your own batch file. Did you do that? Paste a reply with what is in your Autohotkey window please? I'm uploading a vid now for visual reference.

@LuismaSP89 see video below. I'll note that the recording software made the emulator look like that, it's actually running fullscreen without issue for me.

Yes, i did that, this is my hotkey settings:

WinWaitActive, ePSXe - Enhanced PSX emulator
    Sleep, 10000
    Run "D:\Luisma\Emuladores\Emuladores PS1\Epsxe\ePSXe\shaders\2D.bat"

Ok, i´ll try that later, now i must go. Thanks in advance.

    I´ll try later

Give me a few I'll post a quick video to be safe :D

Ah, ok, i put that code in the autohotkey tab you said. But it doesn´t work, and starts the game in small window.

  20. 5 minutes ago, Zeromod said:

@LuismaSP89 So that path is what will need to go at the last line of the AHK script I shared in the post above. Go ahead and remove this as we are going to call the batch from the AHK moving forward. Once you have read that and set it up, test it and let me know how it worked. We can tweak it afterwards if need be.

Edt: Just figured out that I needed to set CPU to 1x for this to run so I'm going to test an actual game on my side now with the AHK solution in place. My batch file just shows a hello world but it should suffice as a proof of concept.

I´m sorry, but i´m a little bit lost... where i must put the code you provide?

  21. 25 minutes ago, Zeromod said:

Ok, so epsxe and a batch, got it. How are you calling that batch file in launchbox? Might even just be able to edit the batch file to have it actually call the emulator first then move to the registry change. Give me that last tidbit and I'll take a peek. I have time :D

Edit: I'm assuming the custom command line parameters? Never messed with it much but if it handles the same range that a full interpreter would take, I can do this real easy. Either way, just grabbed epsxe and I'm poking at it. Hang tight.

I´m using the internal option to launch the .batch Automatically run before the main application. "Image attached"

And this is the code of my .batch:

    REGEDIT /S "D:\Emuladores\Emuladores PS1\Epsxe\ePSXe\control.reg

That .bath calls a .reg file that changes the registry, and works ok.
