  1. I'd hold off anyhow until 2.0 is released. Perhaps with another month wait we will have a better indication as to what is available to us. I have done database front end development before but as I have not looked at the launchbox database I not sure of the time requirement to develop something. As always, I appreciate the input.
  2. Version 1.5.0 has been released Added 548 Fan Made Box Fronts from K to Q from the Official Set. Added an additional "No Box Art" Box Front (Vintage 2 Variant)
  3. Version 1.3.0 has been released Added 804 Missing Fan Made Box Fronts from C to J from the Official Set.
  4. @massatomic That makes perfect sense. A new update should be out soon.
  5. Pretty Spiffy.. Now if I could only get around to making a Pinball cabinet.
  6. I didn't like how a number of assets looked within launchbox so I spent some time reworking the entire package. Included in 2.0 Provided 3 different versions of my themed Clear Logo to accommodate different color schemes. Resources for Titles that didn't make the 1.0 release (Partly based of the MAME List) 19 Fanart Clear Themed Logos (Black Text) 19 Fanart Clear Themed Logos (White Text) 19 Fanart Clear Themed Logos (Enhanced) 19 Fanart Box Fronts Aamber Pegasus used 6 EPROM banks to contain multiple language environments, games and applications The system also used cassette for some software. Some of these releases are lost to time but as they become available I will add media assets to future releases. 19 Fanart EPROM Images (Can be used as a replacement for Tape Media) I have removed the shadow as it did not render nicely in LaunchBox Default Screenshot 19 Screenshots 7 Manuals
  7. Version 1.1.0 has been released Added 341 Missing Fan Made Box Fronts from # to B from the Official Set. Added an additional "No Box Art" Box Front (Vintage Variant) Cheers
  8. Thanks Massatomic, The next update is almost ready to release and should be up this weekend. They are gonna get bigger now with 1.1 estimating to include 300 new box fronts. I also like to add a little extra and breaks up the grind as it allows me to work on new assets. Here is a preview of a new variant (Vintage), to be included in this release along with the start of a c64 cartridge.
  9. Aamber Pegasus Media Pack View File I have had this one on the back burner for awhile and decided to finish version 1.0 for release. Presenting Aamber Pegasus Media Pack… I did take artistic liberties as little to no resources are available. (I believe the final product will brighten up the Aamber Pegasus section in Launchbox). I want to thank Philip Lord from http://www.neoncluster.com providing me with a Hi-Res shot of the EPROM I could use to base my Vector drawing. Included Default Screenshot 19 Fanart Clear Themed Logos (Black) 19 Fanart Clear Themed Logos (White) 19 Fanart Clear Themed Logos (Special) 19 Fanart Box Fronts Aamber Pegasus used 6 EPROM banks to contain multiple language environments, games and applications The system also used cassette for some software. 11. I know the feeling Massatomic, I have 2 kids myself and things can get busy. I had a few days off due to a root canal and then the holidays so I was able to get thru a huge chunk. Keep in mind I may have screwed up the GB code on a few of them as the process on making the box fronts can become almost mechanical. A few of the titles use the same name I have noticed. File naming generally uses the publisher to differentiate, I am not sure how the database handles that as I haven't had an opportunity to look. Do what you can when time permits as it is a big help. I am moving on to the Official set, once that's finished we should have a huge chunk of most people's Commodore 64 setups covered. Then onto the other computer systems to give them some love as well. Thanks
  12. They look great! I am working on Commodore 64 atm but plan on creating Floppy and tape images. Here is the vector art samples I have created so far. I could modify if you like for your use on your project. Just let me know ~Lassiveran
  13. massatomic has been adding them to the database as time permits. Last I was told entries were waiting approval.
  14. Version 1.0.0 released this morning bringing the total box fronts to 512. Roadmap to 2.0 will feature missing box fronts from the Official Set. Prior to starting work on 2.0.0, I will be releasing a themed Clear Logo Pack. Once Commodore 64 is finished I will begin working on Happy Easter
  15. Version 0.80 released this morning adding another 138 fan made box fronts for P-T.
  16. Version 0.60 released this morning adding another 90 fan made box fronts for K-O.
  17. A new version should be up Monday morning that has 80 additional box fronts from F to J. Its just running through a compression program to reduce image sizes. Cheers
  18. Version 0.2.0 has been released covering 170 box fronts from # to E. I also included 2 versions of a generic "No Box Art" image (Default and Glitch Screen). Are you keeping up with Commodore? :-) Lassiveran
  19. Lassiveran's Commodore 64 Media Pack View File Commodore 64 holds a special place in my nostalgic heart. I have decided to create a number of fan made box fronts to fill in the gaps. I'm currently working off a cabinet friendly list of originals. I will work on those first then move to larger sets. I will do as many as I can to fill in some of the holes so we don't end up have 1000's of "No Box Image" pics. I have included 2 versions of a generic "No Box Art" placeholder in this release along with ~170 box fronts covering # to E. Subsequent releases will include more covers as I finish them. I have managed to located a few box covers as I have been going through the list. If I did any work on the images either cropping or other adjustments, I will include them in the release as well. Also, now I have included primary controller information in the form of a joystick or keyboard icon I created as well as number of player details. Also, you will notice a code for gamebase64 to help you with determining which game the cover represents in greater detail than the file names I provided. I am not a professional graphic artist, I have been learning a few tricks as I have been going along to streamline the process. I welcome positive feedback and constructive criticism. After version one is released I do plan on moving onto Themed Clear Logos and Tape/Floppy Disk Images (As shown in my post in Games Media forum) and to take any requests to fill a fan favorite box art I may have missed. I appreciate the hard work everyone has done do far making launch box a great aesthetic front end and this is my way of giving back to the community. I look forward to feedback. 21. I look at it as a hobby, Both the Commodore 64 and the Amiga have a special place in my nostalgic heart. I just put on the 80's tunes and work away. I did make some design decisions after I got started which required me to redo some covers. I'm currently working off a cabinet friendly list of originals. I will work on those first then move to larger sets. I will do as many as I can to fill in some of the holes so we don't end up have 1000's of "No Box Image" pics. Some of the covers lend themselves to additional creativity. Straight text adventure pics are boring by themselves so I added a little more art to them. I have managed to located a few box covers as I have been going through the list. If I did any work on the images either cropping or other adjustments, I will include them in the release as well. Also now I have included primary controller information in the form of a joystick or keyboard icon I created as well as number of player details. Also you will notice a code for gamebase64. Once I get further into this I will welcome the help. Here is a sample from of the 200 I have finished already so you can see what I mean about changes in design consideration. I'm thinking if I have help with data entry into the database I may release alphabet sets of 5 or so. This will give someone the opportunity to start entering them. ~ Cheers Lassiveran
  22. Thanks for the Feedback. I've included the revision 4 below without the grunge. I will proceed this week with mass producing missing box fronts with my fan made version. Once I finish with those I'll move onto Clear Logos and then Cassette/Floppy assets. I will get the Box Fronts out as soon as there finished as I feel they are more sought after. In Big Box I feel it looks a lot better having the placeholder assets. ~ Lassiveran
  23. I decided to do another revision of the front box art as I wasn't entirely happy with revision 2. This one I added some grunge for aesthetic purposes. I have one without the grunge but I'm torn on which one to move forward with. What do you guys like better? ~Lassiveran
  24. Considering that most of the other box art is 2D, I've decided not to take advantage of the 3D Box art as it does not look right in Big Box. I think I may wish to develop separate images for each title missing art assets rather than using a straight "No Boxart Title". Something similar to the following screenshots as an example. Time consuming yes, but I think the end result is worth the effort. What do you guys think?
