as far as I know videos are scraped from emumovies, you have to have a subscription to their service to be able to access the videos. Everything else is free except the videos of gameplay for me currently their server is down and I am receiving a lot of errors when scraping
  2. sounds good, I will knock off work in 30min and jump on in about an hour if your still there
  3. Ps, that moment when your flying a helicopter but thinking about launchbox and posting on the forum is more exciting!
  4. I had trouble logging in the other day but have not tried again since, I am happy to put some time into it also. Getting the layout and pages setup will be the first point of call, then we can work on filling it with data. When I get back to my computer I will draft up a proposed doc structure and see what you think.
  5. The videos are really good, it does make it simple to follow. I personaly would use both, like if you had a page for each system that contained basically the same information but you were able to copy and paste any command lines or emulator setting. an example would be etaprimes video on game and watch, the guy goes into so much effort that he creates a text doc and stores it on dropbox just so people can copy the emulator settings for retroarch. this should just be on a wiki for instance. The only problem i find with wiki's and forums in general(not here, this community is fantastic) is when newbies ask the same old questions and you get people chiming in with blunt/almost negative replies like - have you used the search? - did you even check the wiki? i can undersstand the frustration sometimes but it leaves a sour taste in you mouth when you feel you have made a solid effort to fix something yourself but have made a silly error somewhere and need help and get those kind of replies. 6. I have been thinking i want to contribute to this great community, when i find a bit of free time i will have a look at adding to it where i can. From my limited experiance i will probaly be pulling data straight from other peoples wisdom on the forums. The videos are excellent! But sometimes its good to just have a list, like recommended emulators and settings. where is it linked to on the webpage, i had a look for the link to the wiki for 10 min and could only find it when i googled it after the fact. It may be a better resource if it is more visable on the webpage and forums. edit. for shitty spelling
  7. hmm, so there is! your right, looks like it might need the cobwebs dusting off! Would be great if this ended up being a how to manual for Launch box.
  8. Gday I have been on the Launchbox emotional rollercoaster for a few weeks now, the highs of seeing bix box in all its glory to the lows of trying for hours to get something to work with out success... I did a quick search and couldn't find anything but is there any plans to start a wiki for launchbox? I see some great information and moments of brilliance that I am sure that get lost in the forum and never get seen by users ever again. It would be great if there was a wiki that we could all add to for quick reference to different problems that arise from time to time. You only have to look at the Retropie wiki to see how brilliant it is for sorting out issues Cheers Mass
  9. still cant get the bloody thing to work, I had tried that option before and also re checked again that I didn't do something silly. I checked and the version you linked to is the exact same version as what is on github I also wanted to check that you are only using -d1 command, from what I can tell most people use something like this applewin.exe -d1 "C:\Work\Images\archon_i.dsk" is there a shortcut command I can use within launchbox to have it reference the information stored for its file location like applewin.exe -d1 "file" when I tried to use the first example the program launches with the rom in disk 1 but the screen is filled with "@?" symbols and rebooting the emu does not fix it anyway, got to go get some sleep and will be back on tomorrow to see if I can progress, thanks for you help
  10. thanks bundagdon I found both those commands on my searches and still have found that they have not worked for me. Can I ask what version you are running, I left a message on the emulators google group and they said that -d1 has been broken many times with new releases and is pretty spotty, I will add a bug on their github
