    Tandy TRS-80 and Microsoft Windows were  already done by @viking in his main set.

    I add you a few Sord M5 Alternatives, so you can choose.

    @ci2own Yes i just checked there and there are no custom command line parameters assigned.. i just realized im having the exact same issue with the Nintendo Virtual boy it launches perfectly in the retroarch gui but not through launchbox the weird thing is i am 100 percent sure these systems were working before and all of a sudden they dont launch.. so i enabled debug mode to create a log and then launched a Vectrex game through launchbox then launched a virtual boy game and then i launched a working Gameboy game i thought maybe i could spot a fault but i know nothing about looking at logs for faults and so it was fruitless. but ill attach the log to see if anyone can make sense of it..thanks again i really appreciate all you guys trying to help what a great community  👍🙂

    Try the next steps:

    1) On LB -> Tools > Manage Emulators > RetroArch (or whatever name it have), and go to "Running Script" tab.

    2) Paste the next text there, and it must look like the next screenshot. (Replace your drive letter if not D:\) (Credits for this script to @JoeViking245). So this will create a text file on D:\Log.txt

    ; This will write the LaunchBox command line to a text file.

    queryEnum2 := ComObjGet("winmgmts:").ExecQuery(""
         . "Select * from Win32_Process where caption='retroarch.exe'")    ; Replace exe file with the needed one for each emulator.
         ._NewEnum()[process]

    CommandLine = % process.commandline

    ; MsgBox, %CommandLine%                     ; This will open a message box with the command line.

    ;FileAppend, %CommandLine%, D:\Log.txt                ; This will save the command line to a text file.

    FileAppend, `r%CommandLine%`r, D:\Log.txt                ; This will save the command line to a text file. "`r" sends an intro before and after.

    3) Run the desired game using RetroArch.

    4) Check the command line LB used on the created log file, and try to paste it on a windows terminal to check what's wrong.

    @ci2ownfirst of all thank you very much for creating the LG platform logos.

    I just installed them and wanted to give my feedback, the platform logo is a bit hard to see as it is a bit small and is getting  mixed with the bigger gun logo.

    I think this would work a lot better.

  4. Old post, but a little bit of light on running ZX Spectrum on MAME.

    It seems the ZX Spectrum needs "ZX Interface 2" to run Cartridges.

    image.thumb.png.534a4c30185d4b2436a9c0b4d6c40b7e.png

    The right command tu run, for example CHESS game:

    mame.exe spec128 -exp intf2 -cart chess

    Hope it helps!

  5. MAME Software Lists Overlays With Instructions.

    View File

    I was very bored and I decided to add Notes to the stunning overlays @soqueroeu made! (Thanks for sharing ;))

    I think this will help people load and run games mostly from Tapes and Floppies. when using MAME along Software Lists.

    image.thumb.png.3a4ec8dd7de65d0a033f6a4def6d8b14.png

    INSTRUCTIONS:

    Just add all .zip files to /MAME/artwork/ folder. Make sure the name is the same as the used machine.

    Inside every .zip file there's:

    image.thumb.png.fe970f9b6493ee2edc7db09f79bd3651.png

    - A few versions of the overlays (as said before, created by @soqueroeu).

    - An example of the overlay with Instructions.

    - A settings.txt with instructions to setup the overlay.

    NOTE: Key Combinations are done with a Spanish Keyboard Layout. Probably won't match yours exactly,  and you'll have to find the ones that matches your Keyboard. (Tip: You can see the corresponding keys on "Input Assignments (this system)", on MAME Menu.

    NOTE2: My english is far from perfect, and probably there will be some mistakes. Feel free to let me know if is there something wrong.

    Thanks and enjoy!

    @ci2own curious which software you use to annotate those bezels

    Photoshop ;)

    Also - for the electron I assume you had to create separate LB platforms for floppy and cassette?  How did you map things in BigBox for electron?

    Nope. All in the same Platform.

    @ci2own So now I'm to the point where I have bunches of the swlist platforms working.  Next step is to now try to automate things via autoboot commands.  I wanted to see if you have any general guidance on how to pass those autoboot parameters from LB -- and if you happen to have any resources that show typical autoboot commands for the various platforms.  Let me know and thank you!

    After a lot of testing with autoboot, i choose not to use it in my setup. In a lot of systems, you need different commands depending on the game, and also you need to play tape until ends, to type the next command. And autoboot doesn't allow this.

    What i'm doing now, is to add notes to the bezels, so i know how to proceed on each situation

    @ci2own Have you been able to get Boulder Dash to load?  There are 4 ROMs in the softlist for it, but I haven't been able to follow the above instructions and have any of them load.  Rest of the ROMs in the set all load up fine.

    hash file shows the same way to load, but don't seem to work for me either.

    BRAVO -- this 100% helps!!

    To achieve 5 stars rating ;) , you can also go to https://www.progettosnaps.net/support/ , download messinfo.dat and sysinfo.dat and place them to your MAME/dats/ folder.

    image.thumb.png.227ea3e1deb2398161dee55373f79eea.png

    After that, run a computer, pres TAB to enter to MAME Menu, and go to External DAT View.

    image.thumb.png.190748e3a3fc95c4551ec0785f0323d6.png

    Go to Sysinfo tab (Press right key for that), and you'll see the usage for the running computer.
