  1. ok ignore last post. Got it working. ok so i have now 5 lightgun games setup and working on my machine for player 1 and the gun is moving perfect on the wiimote. So how to incorporate Tomkun's cfg file to my setup? confused DAVE
  2. ok so im a little stuck setting up Mame guys. attached is my touchmote setup. Which was working fine with mame UI. The device config is the same as ThePolish 's original thread. The controller config and the ingame machine config (config this machine only) do not recognise gun movement, they do register button presses, but no gun movement Any ideas?
  3. I use retroarch quite a lot, but going to give mame a try (as per your instructions Tomkun). Failing that then may try retroarch using devreorder. Can I just ask, I am quite new to mame command line (as i said been using retroarch for years) . the config file you have provided above (keymap), can I download this and copy to the mame directory? just removing the lines of code that refer to controllers I dont use? Im just using 2 x wii mote with dolphin bar and ipac2 keyboard encoder for buttons?
  4. Ok will give it a go this afternoon (Australian time) and will post results. Thank you very much again Tomkun
  5. Sorry, yes still talking about Mame. I will try Mame today, instead of mameUI. But would be very very helpful to see your controller setup Tomkun
  6. That would be great for us to see your mame controller scheme. Thank you very much
  7. Having just re-read Tomkun's post Im wondering if i may be able to get 2 player wii mote working as long as there are no other game controller devices used on the arcade machine? If I ensure that player one wii mote is turned on first and connects to touchmote and then connect player 2 controller turned on, I wonder if windows will keep stable ID's ???
  8. Bit of a shock today. Having succesfully setup both player 1 and 2 guns using the lovely wiimotes this morning it seems that mamui has completely forgotten my gun settings! Not sure why. Im just going through setting them up again. Yesterday I noticed that player 1 joystick was being referenced in mame as Joystick 8. Now its joystick 6. I am also using xinmo in this machine, which i use often, but i found there were now issues in retroarch which i use a lot. So I swapped out the xinmo board for an ipac2 encoder. I assume the removal of xinmo has changed the joystick numbering. But will the machine remember the settings in future for p1 and p2?
  9. Thanks very much Voradori, I will take a look a it again today. Yesterday I did try and setup player 2 wiimote using the right stick and i did have it working, but as soon as I rebooted windows MameUI seems to loose player 2 X and Y axis bindings ?!?!
  10. For the purposes of ensuring that anyone else in future reading that gets stuck with using Launchbox, MameUI and wii motes. I discovered that there is actually a problem with LB and mameUI. My gun games work fine in MameUI, but when launching through LB the crosshairs are all messed up. The solution was here : In order to the MameUI and LB to work together properly you need to copy 'mame.ini' in to the same folder as mameui.exe. I now have arcade light gun games working perfect with MameUI, Launchbox and Wii motes. Now to see if player 2 guns can be setup ! !!
  11. Just wanted to see a huge thanks to Lordmonkus. I have just stumbled across this issue when setting up light gun games and using mameui. Light gun games worked perfect in UI, but if i launch them from within LB the crosshair would pause in centre of screen for a second. The solution of copying the mame.ini in to the route folder where MameUI is installed worked ! Thank you
  12. In relation to my issue with the cross hair pausing in the centre of the screen slightly, its not the deadzone. I actually had that already set to zero. The problem is only present when games are launched through LB. If i play the game through MAMEUI the cross hair works fine !
  13. Ah yes thank you, saw that somewhere mentioned someone else. Will try and report back. thank you
  14. I celebrated yesterday after having mameUI working with the Wiimotes. Today Ive imported a handful of those light gun games in to LB and associated MAMEUI as the emulator. Slightly strange experience on some of the games, the gun pointer pauses slightly in the centre of the screen. So for instance with Lethal Enforcers i can play the game fine in MAMEUI but if i launch the same game with LB as the cross hair reaches the middle of the screen, i experience a momentary pause before it continues to move. Anyone have any ideas?
  15. I have tried 2 aimtrack guns although they look good i thought the build quality was poor. One of my guns arrived with only one screw! the others were missing and so the gun almost fell apart. without the solenoid i also thought they were light weight and cheap plastic. Whereas the wiimote, albeit doesnt look much like a real gun, IMO feels heavier, more substantial and works better than the aimtracks. And of course they are wireless which is a BIG bonus. We are all used to having wireless devices nowadays, who wants bloody great big leads all over the place.
  16. Agreed. To be honest I could not get on with the PS2 emulator. Im not going to personally try it any further until someone works out 2 player gun support! But your thread and the others who commented certainly helped me get mame setup. Also managed to get super model 2 and 3 setup with some of the gun games so at the moment, very happy
  17. I just wanted to say a big thanks to this thread and Dynamite Jewduh for the help. For the first time in weeks and with many hours wasted I have now managed to get Mame light guns setup with wiimotes, mameUI, the 201 merged romset downloaded from Arcade Punks and touchmote. A lot of flaffing about but all sorted now. This video also helped me in terms of actually configuring the guns within mame : Thank you
  18. Hi everyone. Ive got the wiimotes and mayflash dolphin bar. Going to give this a try tomorrow. My preference is to use a similar setup to DYNAMITE, retroarch for majority of mame games and a seperate Mameui install for lightgun. Can I just ask what romset would you recommend for best light gun games? ive got the one that works with MAME2003 but hardly any of the light gun games work.
  19. Hey chaps, i have built several cabs now and always use BigBox, i love it. On this particular cab i have a space underneath the main screen, its a big enough space to slide in a smaller monitor. Everything will be hidden behind a perspex bezel so i could make the bottom screen any shape or size (marquee shaped or square or as is). I dont want to spend stupid money on a super wide screen monitor for the marquee, i just want to use one i already own. I was thinking of playing about with the idea of having marquee or images displayed on the second monitor. I was wondering if this could be done and or your opinion if you think it would look crap or not. Obviously we are used to seeing video marquees now, but how about a second smaller screen underneath the main screen?
