    another user sent me this via another threat Errr, cpwizbiz wont help with this, but luckily for you, I also wrote an app that may help with this.     that did not work for me. i delete the default.cfg and re launched mame to get it back and now i have keyboard control back, i remapped my controller again for like th 10 th time. will try again when I get home from work. this is so fustrating. has anyone used retroarch instead of mame for mame roms?

    what do you have for game control settings in the mame settings , in the ui interface?

    doesnt work. non of the buttons on my controller respond, they do in bigbox and on all other emulators just not in mame

    with that config file nothing works. I cant even hit tab now

    i dont, but when we play wii games in bigbox with wiimote, the xbox 360 goes to sleep, when i turn it back on and re launch mame, boom, the settings are gone. its almost like window is assigning a different config and so mame sees it like a new controller or something. i dropped that config file you gave me, and launc mame, what do i do now, reconfigure the the controller?

    yea, i started with the command line only, and then i switched to ui but same problem.

    are you using a xbox 360 wireless controller?, if you launch mame and the controller is not on, mame doesn't see the controller and it resets the controller settings. I tried reinstalling mame and different versions.

    man, if you can tell me your secret, you will make my day!! i set this up big box for me and my 4 year old and he loves mame, but cant play it because of this issue. I read something about guid for each controller , and that some sort mame ini file to fix this.

    im using xbox 360 controller and running mame 1.186ui 64 x

    try it with a control pad, you will see , after mapping the buttons, if you re launch mame, the mappings are gone. are we allow to post urls here?

    i did, the issue is (apperently its a common issue) is that if your using a wireless controller or usb controller, sometimes when you re launch mame , all the mapping get reset and you have to re do all the button again.

    Hey guys, new to mame here. Will this app help me with my issue? I'm using mame0.816ui. My Xbox 360 controller wireless keeps losing the config in Mame. I thought it was happening when I launched mame without my controller turned on but tried it again today and lost the config again even though the controller was on. I changed the config file to be read only, not sure what else to do. any suggestions. I have mame and roms in the root of c drive.

    is not working for me. I set the same buttons up but when i hold select and start on my 360 controller it will not exit
