All games seems to work perfectly, I have issue only with the 1941 game.

    🙁

Then its clearly not the no-nag's fault, it can not differentiate between games, its either on or off. The fault is your end and your end alone, it has nothing to do with the no nag's released here.

I would ask you not to mention other sites with nags as a fair few just steal the nag from here and repost it. Also the site you mentioned has MameUI 0.250, funnily enought the project died @ 0.248 and is no longer maintained.

  6. @Nanotik I just did a fresh install of LB to another drive, told it to import my full mame set and setup mame for me, while it was downloading the metadata and artwork/covers i replaced the mame.exe with my nonag. Once LB had finished importing i ran a game, and the game and no nag worked perfectly, i tried this on multiple games and all was fine. There is no need to add the skip_gameinfo 1 anywhere as the full importer adds it to the cmd line for mame, and just using skip_gameinfo in the cmd line toggles it to on afaik.

I will add that im not a fan of the full importer setting up mame, as you lose some of the features of mame, but i totally understand why its there and is needed. That said if you want to tinker with mame and all its features using a stand alone mame setup is far better, but beware this has its own pitfalls.

  10. New Month, New Update. MAME: 0.243

Note: There is some regression to this version of mame.

    Source: https://www.reddit.com/r/MAME/comments/uegwng/mame_0243/

MAME 0.243 has a few fairly big internal changes, and while we’re working towards making MAME more future-proof, there will likely be some regressions in the short term. The most noticeable regression that we’re aware of is that rhythm games using DVD media on Konami’s Firebeat platform are now very unhappy with our lack of proper DVD drive emulation.

Thanks.   Doing the work is quite simple.   But it becomes a tax down the road, as every time I update my set its something I have to remember to do.  If LB is only going to support MAME in .ZIP format, fine by me.  I'll just leave it be.

The main reason nearly all mame rom packs stayed zip instead of swapping to 7z was Torrentzip, as it creates byte-for-byte exact zips on all machines, this was needed for torrenting purposes, and as this is still the easiest way for most people to stay up-to-date with mame there has never been a real need to ever swap to 7z other than saving space, but for people updating all the time i would recommend just staying zip.

  12. You can use a dummy file to add it to LB, once added just remove the dummy file from the roms folder after you have added it to lb. And yes use the same names.

If you used the full set importer shouldn't have to do anything, it should of added the game itself even though the dummy file does not exist. As LB doesn't even look at your roms,

Mmm....That's explain why those games aren't included at the 0.242 romset anymore.

I saw other shmups were missing too, but those don't belong to Cave.

For example Ray Crisis or Shikigami no Shiro. Their .zip are not included at the basic merged or split romsets. But their CHD still remain. That's weird.

Both these games are still in mame, they are are part of Taito GNET and as such are clones in the coh3002t rom file.

That he can obviously make his own mind up to try it or not.

I have been downloading MAME packs since MAME 001 and there have been many times when a specific game would not load because the bios file was wrong on the main download set, that I then found in the bios pack.

So now I find just overwriting the entire set with the bios pack is better for me before I then run my set through Clrmamepro.

It does no harm, so no need to pull me up on it just because I don't do it exactly the same as you.

Thats actually a long winded way to do it, i keep one of my sets fully updated so i can test the no nags, all i do is download the update pack thats released every month, then by choice i just clrmamepro the update into the set. I have never needed to download a bios set as any changes to the bios file are always in the update pack, and it takes me less than 5mins to do.

But i agree with Neil, 99% will never use clrmamepro, or even know what it does, and if used wrongly can destroy a set in seconds, and as such would never tell anyone to download it.

Do any dip switch changes prevent an upload? I ask,  as I’ve set a number of vertical games to Cocktail Mode (as I have a Cocktail machine).

    Many thanks

From what i remember any changes that are made are excluded from uploading, as there is no way to differentiate what each dip switch does for each game.
