Missing Images after using the slider to change UI image size
EvilHomer777 replied to EvilHomer777's topic in Troubleshooting
Ok, so that partially solved the problem. Now, as I started to once again download images for the games that did not get fixed using the correct path method above, I noticed that when performing a search for media images, no images were displayed as a result. This was solved by clicking on the little "X" that appears in the database Metadata search box, and redoing a search once again after making sure the LaunchBox's games database was up to date. It still does suck that not all games got their images back, but the task of updating them is not as daunting now that most of them are back. This whole issue seems to have been a combination of the image folder paths not being updated and the local database no longer matching the latest LaunchBox games database. So in anyone else encounters this at least we know this could happen. -
Missing Images after using the slider to change UI image size
EvilHomer777 replied to EvilHomer777's topic in Troubleshooting
Oh! Doing that made a lot of the images show up once again. 😃 I tried it with the Arcade platform first, since for that one, all I ever use is the front view of the advertising flyers. I noticed that before changing it, LaunchBox was displaying the full path to the folder in question starting from the root C drive, like: C:\Users\Homer64\My Documents\LaunchBox\Images\Arcade\Advertisement Flyer - Front but once I re-selected it, it displayed it as: Images\Arcade\Advertisement Flyer - Front I confirmed the platforms with the missing images all display a path starting at the C drive. -
Missing Images after using the slider to change UI image size
EvilHomer777 replied to EvilHomer777's topic in Troubleshooting
When I select Edit, there is no images there, even though the images are in their respective folder(s) for that platform/image-type. In the left panel, it makes no difference what I've selected. But I've always used Platform Category. It's happening in several platforms. -
Missing Images after using the slider to change UI image size
EvilHomer777 replied to EvilHomer777's topic in Troubleshooting
Thank you for the response. I went over every point as suggested. Nothing seems to be wrong with any of that. I am able to add a game's image manually, refresh, and not have it disappear. I still have no idea why it happened. I am dreading having to add each image manually, once again. 😬 -

Hello all, I'm running the latest version of LB 13.24. Yesterday, I was playing with the UI slider to make the images look a bit smaller. Usually they flash and then they reload. This time some didn't. O_o I have tried refreshing the images both by selecting all of them together and individually but nothing. I also made sure all the media (images ) are in their respective folders. Nothing is missing, They simply fail to load. Both on the front end and also when editing the game's edit media and metadata section. It's weird because some platforms now only show banners, while others have nothing. I have not tried to re-download or to add them manually all over again as I'm hoping maybe there is an easier and less time consuming way of fixing the issue. My guess is that is has something to do with the refreshing of the media DB because I usually see a red progress bar at the top when switching between platforms, but this time it doesn't do that all the time. Any help would be appreciated. 🤗

System not supported error when updating from 13.21 to 13.22
EvilHomer777 replied to EvilHomer777's topic in Troubleshooting
It was running in compatibility mode. 🤦♂️ -
For me this just started happening today after the latest Windows update on Windows 10. I had to change the application's properties to run in compatibility mode with Windows Vista in order for it to work again.🙄

I'm in a bit of a very frustrating pickle. Earlier today, I saw the new update (13.14) was available. I updated but ran into a problem. Can't remember what it was but basically I had to stop the installation due to the error. it's weird because this never happens. I tried to run LaunchBox again but no matter what I did, the program did not start. Not even after several PC restarts. I then figure, hey, why don't I just redownload the app and reinstall it manually. Bad idea. Unfortunately doing that removed my configuration including the back ups... unless I am missing something and there is another way to restore from disk where the previous install was? Then I remembered, Hey, maybe my configuration is saved on the LB cloud? And it seem it is! But now I'm afraid to sync to it because I don't know if doing so it's going to sync my local config to the cloud and also erase that. So, can anyone can help? O_O Thanks in advance.

Weird right? Oh well, I'll keep fidgin' with it. If I figure out why is not working I'll update here.

Hello again Lordmonkus of the high order of seemingly angry avatar chimps, I was trying to get Last Batallion working but can't seem to get it to boot using the cmd file with: px68k "I:\LaunchBox\Games\Sharp_X68000\Last Batallion (1991)\Last Batallion (1991)(Sting)(Disk 1 of 2).dim" "I:\LaunchBox\Games\Sharp_X68000\Last Batallion (1991)\Last Batallion (1991)(Sting)(Disk 2 of 2).dim" It boots the first disk if I point to that path individualy, but not if using the cmd file method. Have you had any luck?

Aha! the path to the roms folder needed to have no names with spaces. Replaced space with an "_" and now it works.

Any hints on why I may be having issues? Is there any custom command lines that need to be inside the Launchbox emulator set up? Do game roms need to be in the same Hd as the retroarch? Is there any specific set up guide for using the px68k core that one needs to follow? Are robots taking over? O_o? Oh, and I did set the rom folder path in StartDir as it says here: https://docs.libretro.com/library/px68k/

Has anyone been able to get the Libreto px68k core working along with Launchbox? I get as far as launching the bios from Launchbox, but when looking to mount the actual disc for the game in question I just can't find the right path. I may be missing something, but I can't find a tutorial for Launchbox using the px68k core. O_O

I was trying to find a way to use RetroArch instead of the Niko Project emu, but I could not find any videos on how. I finally got it working after visiting the RetroArch page at https://docs.libretro.com/library/neko_project_ii_kai/ and I'm up and running a fully translated version of Rusty (Castlevania clone) and E.V.O.: The Theory of Evolution from the awesome guys at 46 OkuMen - https://46okumen.com/projects/rusty/ - https://46okumen.com/projects/e-v-o-the-theory-of-evolution/ Just thought this could help someone else.

It looks like that was the case. Now, what's a quick way to transfer all the control config settings from each game, from the old version of Mame to the new one, without having to go into each game individually?
-
I did upgrade from Mame ver.172. Maybe back then the ini file was not inside a folder like it is now. Actually, scratch that. It was from ver. 162.
-
Holy wacamole. That worked! O_O The file was originally located inside a folder called ini by default. Thanks!
-
All of them.
-
Only with this version of Mame. if I switch the Launchbox setting to use a different version, it works fine. Version 192 is the only one that does this for me. All other games work fine with their respective emulators.
-
Alright, after re-importing all the roms... still nothing. I thought maybe the issue would be Mame's ini file, but the path is correct in there too.
