Xeon3D Posted August 11, 2015 Author Posted August 11, 2015 How long have you been out of the IRC community? I haven't seen a DDos or mentions of hacked computers in IRC in years. There are way more lucrative ways of hacking a computer than IRC. Quote

Xeon3D Posted January 16, 2016 Author Posted January 16, 2016 Did you even read the article? The botnets are being controlled thru IRC. The malware is not. So resuming, you get infected thru a website or email, and then when the malware is already installed on your PC, it opens a IRC connection (you don't even need to have a IRC client installed) and starts getting commands from there. So, IRC by itself is not doing any harm to your computer... Quote
