cnop
Let me start by saying i am probably the only weirdo with this style setup so who knows if you have and answer for one of these but the other seems like it should be simple. 1: I run 2-3 console emulators with no sound issues, but about all if not all arcade games have some solid static. I'm not sure if this a retroarch or bigbox issue. Was only able to find one post about a controller box being checked on or off and that did not seem to help.Any idea ? 2: This one is an annoyance due to my strange setup. Just finished setting up a 40" LCD in portrait mode in an old cabinet and while i can run portrait and games adjust nicely to 4:3 the image area is centered and i need it a little off center and nothing i adjust via Nvidia or windows will overwrite this. It sits a little bit low and i am not sure if this is something i can adjust via launchbox or retroarch or if there is another emulator ie: mame that i can run that will let me raise it just a bit. I know this is a weird one but every other question I had that i thought was crazy i found a quick answer for in the forums here. Lordmonkus
Neither of these issues would be Launchbox related. Sound issues such as static could be a couple of things like your system not being powerful enough to run that core in Retroarch or a setting like audio delay or a couple of other settings. You can offset your image in Retroarch in the video settings and setting custom X and Y Viewports. Are you using Retroarch Mame core for your arcade stuff ? I assume you are since you mention arcade and RA. I would suggest using the stand alone Mame, it is lighter on the system than RA Mame core and you can adjust stuff there a little easier. cnop
I felt like it was going to come to Retroarch. Launchbox has been great so far and Bigbox is perfect. System itself is pretty solid but I'll try swapping to straight Mame. Thanks for the post
SentaiBrad
Well this isn't too far fetched. LaunchBox was doing something similar to this as it happened to quite a few people actually. It was because of drivers trying to be used so disabling the controller was the solution. However, this hasn't been a thing for a while, so I agree with @lordmonkus, it seems to be a setting or your PC's power. I would give the standalone emulators a shot and see what happens. Lordmonkus
Usually static or stuttering sound in RA is caused by the system not powerful for the core, shader being used is too intensive, audio delay set too low or video frame delay set too high. That's in my experience so far, could be some other factors in there I am forgetting off the top of my head.
SentaiBrad
I'm agreeing with you. Audio stuttering when LaunchBox was open used to be a thing though too and has since gone away. The clipping audio was system wide though and actually had nothing to specifically do with emulators. You could be listening to music and it would happen.
