arkraider34 Posted October 26, 2016 Author Posted October 26, 2016 Petes opengl2 2.0 and core 2.0. But I have a bunch of bios and plugins that I copied over from my older instalation
arkraider34 Posted October 26, 2016 Author Posted October 26, 2016 No luck again, same problem with epsxe 2.0.5. I'd really like to get retroach working and I'm pretty sure it's just a setup issue in retroarch that's holding me back. I have other systems in retroarch that I'm currently running in launchbox so I'm pretty sure it's just something I have wrong on the retroarch end of things
Lordmonkus Posted October 26, 2016 Posted October 26, 2016 Do you have other systems that require bios working in Retroarch ?
arkraider34 Posted October 26, 2016 Author Posted October 26, 2016 No just downloaded the cores and they worked
arkraider34 Posted October 26, 2016 Author Posted October 26, 2016 But I did notice that it dosent find any of my game files when searching for them through retroarch. Not sure why
Lordmonkus Posted October 26, 2016 Posted October 26, 2016 Retroarch can be a bit more picky about disk images but it should work if set up correctly.
arkraider34 Posted October 26, 2016 Author Posted October 26, 2016 When I go to my game folder it just says no items.
Lordmonkus Posted October 26, 2016 Posted October 26, 2016 Retroarch requires your games to be in cue + bin format, it won't work with simple iso images.
arkraider34 Posted October 26, 2016 Author Posted October 26, 2016 Well most are in bin and those are not showing either.
Lordmonkus Posted October 26, 2016 Posted October 26, 2016 Yeah, Retroarch needs the cue sheet as well as the bin. Retroarch is a more picky emulator to setup than ePSXe.
Lordmonkus Posted October 26, 2016 Posted October 26, 2016 Here is a quick tutorial I did to setting up Retroarch to run PS, Sega CD and Turbo Grafx CD games.
arkraider34 Posted October 26, 2016 Author Posted October 26, 2016 Ok think I'm getting somewhere I managed to get it to load to a black screen using the cue file? Am I suppose to merge the bin and cue together somehow? Now trying to figure out if I'm doing it right and it's just a bad file or if I'm suppose to combine the two in some way
Lordmonkus Posted October 26, 2016 Posted October 26, 2016 No combing needed. But for ease of use I keep my PS games in their own individual folders. In the folder for the game is the cue + bin, you just need to make sure that your bin file matches the file in the cue sheet.
arkraider34 Posted October 26, 2016 Author Posted October 26, 2016 As of now I have a folder with one bin. File and one cue. File in it both are named the same. Not sure what you mean by the term "cue sheet" sorry for being a problem! Lol. I'm sure you are like "Jesus this guy" lol
arkraider34 Posted October 26, 2016 Author Posted October 26, 2016 I'm 35 I have no idea what's going on. Things where easier for me in the 90's
Lordmonkus Posted October 26, 2016 Posted October 26, 2016 Lol its all good. a cue sheet is just a table of contents really. Its a file the emulator uses to read the disk image data. Here is a screen shot for example, notice the bin file name matches up in the first line in the cue sheet. And age is no excuse, i'm 42
arkraider34 Posted October 26, 2016 Author Posted October 26, 2016 Damn I was really hoping to use age as a crutch, oh well now I guess I gotta try! Lol
arkraider34 Posted October 26, 2016 Author Posted October 26, 2016 Have any idea why when I go to load a game it would come up in just a black screen. Shows a prompt for a controller configuration but just sits in a black screen
Lordmonkus Posted October 26, 2016 Posted October 26, 2016 Hmmmm, my first guess is it doesn't like your disk image. Are you telling it to load the bin or the cue file ? RA uses the cue file.
