meshflesh
How. I set up a global joypad exit for exiting emulators.(select+START). altought it works on most emulators ive tried. On Mame..the Global exit keys have no effect. And on the dolphin emulator....I have to confirm exit with my mouse. And on snes9x the global exit works..but when i restart the emulator it is no longer full screen and the options show at the top. thank you for this amazing software. any advice? Im running Bigbox mode BTW
Lordmonkus
For Dolphin open the emulator, go to Tools > Options > Interface tab and uncheck "Confirm on Stop" For Mame while it's running press Tab on the keyboard to bring up the UI. Then go to Input (General) > User Interface > look for UI Cancel. You can set a hotkey combo or multiple hotkeys to close out Mame. I don't use Snes9x but I will get it and see what I can find in it, I suspect there is a setting in somewhere to have it start full screen. Edit: For Snes9x go to Video > Display Configuration, check Fullscreen and uncheck Emulate Fullscreen. This should work.
meshflesh
thanks for prompt reply!! I tried your suggestion with snes 9x. and I keep getting the menu bar on top. Could it be commandline issue? Im using snes9x 1.53 by the way
Lordmonkus
It might be, but like I said I don't use Snes9x. I use Retroarch, it's much better even if you use the Snes9x core in it it's better.

I ended up using my old cmd line from "gameex" and it worked perfectly (Snes9x.exe -fullscreen "[ROMPATH]\[ROMFILE]"). the mame hotkeys worked! Lordmonkus
Cool, command lines can be a thing at times
meshflesh
ive always been interested in retroarch bc of the crt shaders. But i just could never get it working right. retroarch ui isnt user friendly at all. But i see everyone getting amazing results. What do you like most about retroarch?? What cool things can it do? Lordmonkus
The UI can be a bit daunting but the pay off is worth it. I like the unified look that shaders bring to all the games running under it for one thing. The 2nd best best reason to use RA is the Hard GPU Sync option which reduces input lag in their emulator cores. There are other reasons like easy to use save states from a controller and easy to setup controllers. It's also always under development, while stand alone Snes9x hasn't been updated for a long time the RA core is always getting worked on. damageinc86
I can't use retroarch with anything besides my handheld systems because it only recognizes three of my controllers. two xbox360 and one other one. When I have GC, SNES, and PS1 hooked up. No matter what input driver I have ever selected, it will never allow me to map the other controllers. Major flaw imo. If they ever make it actually see all controllers you have plugged in automatically, then i'll try it again. I mean, even launchbox sees every controller under the controller menu and applies the navigation buttons you select to everything, so I can pick up any controller and move through the LB menus. I wonder why retroarch can't figure that out?
Lordmonkus
I believe I read over on their forums that is something being worked on.
