I am having the same issue. I don't have afterburner running. On exiting PCSX2 it drops me back to the desktop, weird thing is that the big box process is still running and I have to close it out through task manager.

Make sure you turnoff riva statistics. And whatever other backround process that may be open. Try to narrow it down

I deleted my autohotkey script entirely as others have mentioned and I can at least send the close command twice. Only graphics focused background process running is GeForce experience.

O, and I also remembered that certain pcsx2 versions dont close correctly within BB. Try downgrading your pcsx2 to the latest stable version. or upgrade to the latest beta.

and delete geforce experience. see if that helps

I had the same thing.   I went under options/ controller buttons and disabled the "exit" key.   I just use automation and assign my 2 buttons for exiting there.   Now it exits back out to bigbox and it doesn't seem to crash or require me to kill it via the task manager like before ;)

It works ok for me.

i have this in my pcsx2 default command line parameters in LB emulator settings:

--nogui --fullscreen

And I have this in the ahk tab:

$Esc::
{
    Process, Close, {{{StartupEXE}}}
}

I'm running pcsx2 version 1.4.0 and LB 7.8. I use xbox one controllers with usb wireless and controller automation to exit games with the back/start button combos.
