Jimlee24
Hello folks, I'm starting an install of bigbox. Would anyone know what the best order to watch (and do) the setup tutorials in? Thanks for any help you can give. Jimlee24
Lordmonkus
I would suggest starting with something simple and something you are most familiar with. Make sure the emulator you wish to start with is setup how you like it and your games working with it. Then you add that emulator to Launchbox and import a small selection of games and test it out making sure it works. If it works then import more games but if it doesn't then troubleshoot the setup in Launchbox. But always make sure your emulator is setup and working outside Launchbox first, that will eliminate one step in the troubleshooting process. fromlostdays
Do you mean that you're using launchbox for your retro collection, or that you're just picking up this hobby? Heh. Two different scenarios.Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N910A using Tapatalk
Jimlee24
I have some experience with Hyperspin and Hyperpin, but I'm looking to start from scratch with Launchbox. I'll probably use the roms I have but do not want to use clean installs of the emulators. So I'm trying to figure out where to start and what order to work if i want to install arcade classics first. Lordmonkus
You do not need clean installs of the emulators at all, but since you are used to Hyperspin you can choose whether or not to tie RocketLauncher into Launchbox or not. Personally I do not use RocketLauncher but there are some threads and even videos about linking the two up. If you are wanting to get away from RocketLauncher though I would suggest adding your emulators using the manage emulators and then do some small imports of games for each platform. You should also check out some of Brads or even ETA Primes recent videos. Once you get the hang of the more commonly used emulators you will be able to apply that information to other emulators aside from certain oddball case emulators. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCSIht6UXIEXIgz4eXAEShxA/videos

fromlostdays
I get it.. the fresh start thing. Especially if you're not using retroarch... it's a whole lot of emulators to keep track of... what version of this etc. I'd start with RetroArch. Get it running via rl or launchbox, whichever way you want to go, and start importing. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N910A using Tapatalk
