Lordmonkus
Just be aware that if you aren't updating your rom set you will break your Capcom games that require the Qsound.zip "bios" file. Other games may break as well but the Capcom Qsound stuff was the first I noticed quickly testing out some stuff with 186. Apparently there was an update with the 186 set and now the Qsound.zip file should contain the following 2 files within it: qsound.bin dl-1425.bin Simply getting the update pack and over writing the old one will not work because the update pack only contains the dl-1425.bin file. So either get the update packs and update them properly or get a whole new set.
dov_EL
I do not use full romset, I do not understand how I can update through the various tools.
spycat
Just to clarify the qsound device change with MAME186. The file dl-1425.bin replaces the file qsound.bin which is no longer needed.

Lordmonkus
Ok, good to know. I just noticed that my Capcom stuff wasn't working and was missing that rom file so I just merged the 2 files into a single zip to be safe.
spycat
Just for users of the 32-bit MAME, if you grabbed your copy of MAME 186 32-bit very early, then you may have one that's missing a number of tools such as chdman, floptool, romcomp and so on. MAME itself will run ok. The 32-bit version was pulled temporarily. It's back up (approx 2MB larger) and now extracts all content as expected. However, 3rd party sites hosting MAME 186 32-bit may still be offering the earlier incomplete release. MAME 64-bit is unaffected.
druku88
Hi, Im new to the forum but been using MAME for abit. I ahve upgraded to MAME64 v0.186 was on MAMEUI64 0.175 previously. I too have noticed that alot of my Capcom games have stopped working. But not all. I though if i 'acquired' a rom from a site that stated them as 0.186 roms, it would just work but im not having any luck. I opened the rom contents and see there is no reference to dl-1425.bin. Am i able to just download dl-1425.bin from somewhere and add it to the zip file? Not sure what to do. Any help would be much appreciated. Lordmonkus
You need an updated Qsound.zip bios file for 186.
