natemac00
After I imported a set of roms, I wanted to move those roms location. When I went to "Edit Platform" and chose my platform I want to change the location of. I went to "folders" and under the media type "Game" I changed the Folder Path to the new location. This however did not globally change the rom parent folder of the roms already imported. Is this a bug, or is there another way to go about this? ...or do I need to reimport? Thanks for the help, love'n this software so far.
DOS76
I'm guessing your using the stable version which doesn't have the move roms location feature yet like the latest beta versions do your best bet beside updating to the beta would be to reimport your ROMs but make sure on reimport you check the box to download none on the media download form as all the media you just download will still be in the folder and reattach to the platform and all your games automatically. This will drastically reduce your import time. Edited August 3, 2017 by DOS76
Lordmonkus
Yeah you can either update to the latest beta which has a bulk edit rom location tool. Re-import roms like DOS suggested. Or you can use Notepad++ to edit the platforms .xml file. Here is a guide I wrote on how to do that.

Lordmonkus
The .xml files are in the \Data\Platforms\ folder of your Launchbox folder, make sure LB is not running while you edit them though. You enable Beta updates by going into Tools > Options > General > Updates. The latest beta should be stable but of course it is beta so no guarantees. If you do go the beta route simply select the platform you want to change the rom path for and in the Tools menu near the top you will see the menu entry you need. natemac00
I found it under the Platforms folder. This did fix having duplicate Naomi Roms in my MAME folder and using the Demul script to make copies of the Naomi ROMs to import. Once I did the import, i changed the rom location back to the original mame rom folder and deleted the copies that the Demul script created and everything is working great. It's one heck or a round-about to get there but it works if you're sort on HD space
DOS76
I wonder if you could change the script to create shortcuts instead import the shortcuts and only use one rom without going through them

I know with GameEX front-end there was a dat file you could connect with the import and it said if you're look for a specific system, heres the list of file names, only check to see if they exist, if they do, then import ignore every other file in the folder.
