chochi_ca Posted August 21, 2017 Posted August 21, 2017 Hello. I am a newbie. I am trying to get big box to work with my topside controls. I can navigate with my joystick but the buttons don't work. During gameplay eveything works fine but navigating big box I have to use my keyboard buttons . I had no issues while using the old atomic front end on my Mame arcade. I have looked in the menu options and don't c anything that is working to assign my topside controls?
Lordmonkus Posted August 21, 2017 Posted August 21, 2017 Is it recognized by Windows as an actual controller or a keyboard ? If it's a keyboard go to the Options screen then Keyboard Mappings and remap your buttons in there.
chochi_ca Posted August 21, 2017 Author Posted August 21, 2017 I think it recognizes as a keyboard. It runs through a iPac controller. I have gone in the keyboard mapping and when a I move to a highlighted command type buttons that I push don't change anything ?
Lordmonkus Posted August 21, 2017 Posted August 21, 2017 Use your real keyboard to go to the buttons you want to map to the controller and press enter on the keyboard, then the button the controller you want to map to it. I had to do that with my X-Arcade Tankstick which is detected as a keyboard.

I tried to go into my iPac settings cause a couple buttons didn't work during games play. I thought I set them in the notepad. But now I lost a lot of controls. I might have deleted command lines? Will not let me hit cntrl alt p. To Change program? I can just enter text

Retro808 Posted August 21, 2017 Posted August 21, 2017 I do not use iPac either but looking at the FAQ on UItimarc's page it looks like Ultimarc has a utility that is used to configure the iPac if needed. Check the downloads section on Ultimarc's page.
chochi_ca Posted August 21, 2017 Author Posted August 21, 2017 Ok slowly making progress. I have downloaded ultimarc for configuration. I have all my keys working except z and x. I highlight those buttons and hit the buttons I want as "z" and "x" but it just changes them to "enter" both of them ?
