LogicalEgo
Just downloaded the latest RA build after being 2 versions behind and I noticed that I can not find the per core config option in the options even after turning on advanced options. Is my eye sight just awful, am I completely missing something? Also noticed that my shader config will stick to every core I launch now. @Zombeaver RA guru can you shed some light? Lordmonkus
It's there, it just got moved around, gimme a couple of minutes and I will get some screen shots of where it is now.
Zombeaver
Do you mean "content specific core options"? That should be in Settings -> Configuration. It's to enable saving altered core options for specific games. I'm on the latest stable at home (but not here at work) so I can double-check tonight, but it should be there. Worst case scenario you could add it manually to a core/game override with the line: game_specific_options = "true" As far as shaders, cores will use the shader listed in config order: per-game override -> per-core override -> base (retroarch.cfg unless another is specified). They can also be saved as shader presets on a per-core or per-game level. I don't use shader presets though - I just set them with normal overrides. You might want to make sure you haven't saved a preset by accident.
Lordmonkus
It's now in the Quick Menu when you got a core and a game loaded.
Zombeaver
That's not what he's asking about, or at least I assume that's not what he's talking about. That's been there for a while anyway. Content Specific Core Options is to save altered core options (Quick Menu -> Options) with a game loaded on a per-game basis.
Lordmonkus
Ah ok, my misunderstanding then.
Zombeaver
You might not be. If he's just talking about overrides, then yeah that's it. Content-Specific Core Options are a pretty niche thing, so I could be misunderstanding. I use it in a few one-off cases like this.
Lordmonkus
I just know they changed up the old "Per Core" config system that RA had a few version ago for the new system which is far more granular and I like it.
Zombeaver
Yeah it's been like that as of version 1.4.1. That's when I started doing all the PSX overrides. It's much better than a bunch of nonsense with duplicating core .dlls and shit.
LogicalEgo
So just to be clear, any time I want a per core setting like shaders etc, its save core override via quick menu? I dont need to check mark the section that used to be in options per core configuration?
Lordmonkus
Correct and you can save it as a core override or a game override.

Thank you, that clears up a bunch of head scratching I was doing earlier today setting up the latest version.
