Mute64
All right so ive recently downloaded Mame 1.89 CHDs merged ( 1.8TiB ) to my seed box...... and then found that it includes the complete psx collection and a few other systems as well so im currently grabbing the psx collection off my seedbox but i see that the naming structure of the files are named a bit different than the games proper name more like how mame names its Arcade games.... very abbreviated, now i was wondering if the LaunchBox Games Database is going to have trouble with the way these files are named? DOS76
it most definitely will have issues with those name. Have you looked in the folders though some times the software stuff will have mame names but the files inside will be normally named. DOS76
Why the naming from the hash folders isn't integrated in LB or the DB I don't know when I mention it its like there is no interest

DOS76
what emulator handles PSX CHD's or are you using MAME for it?
Mute64
Im pretty sure mednafen has been updated just recently to be able to read chd's, so yea ill be using the mednafen core on retroarch
TheMadMan007
Seems like I've been out of the loop with CHDs... I only know them as hard drive images for a few MAME games. There are CHDs for other systems? Is it preferred over the unzipped files for like Playstation?
Mute64
I use CHD's and eboots for ps1 games, just for the ease of having a single file instead of bin/cue files. Not sure about the compression but i think CHD compression isn't to bad.... oh yea updated my mednafen core and yea the ps1 CHD's booted up straight away.. In the mame pack i recently download they had a bunch of other systems there too wich i assume are chds as well. DOS76
Okay I'll try to explain it a little better every month MAME roms come out they come in 3 flavors either Split, Merged or NonMerged then these come in two flavors either updated or full sets then of these there are 5 types (with the caveat that the chd sets only come merged) they are rom chd software list roms software list chd's and bios set (bios set is redundant if you have the full sets though they are more for separate MESS usage). Hope that convoluted explanation helps
