  1. Just grab everything from Vimm's Lair. the files are in .7z format, but that just needs to be extracted, and inside is the .xiso file that Xemu needs. No need to convert anything.
  2. Thanks, good to know. I'm on the beta branch, so I turned that off and all is right with the world. Now, I just gotta delete and reimport the original games I had.
  3. I built a new PC today and moved my LaunchBox drive into it. I installed Steam and downloaded a few normal and VR games. I ran LaunchBox to test out some NES and other games to make sure all emulators ran fine, and after LaunchBox updated, it auto imported my Steam games. I absolutely do not want this as I keep my LaunchBox strictly for retro and want it portable as well. It also removed all my other "Windows" games that I had setup like various older PC games like No One Lives Forever 1 and 2 and others. How do I turn this off completely?
  4. Ok awesome, thank you very much. I think that will solve my problem nicely!
  5. When you say "Create an additional app", I'm not sure exactly what you mean. I don't believe I've heard that term in LaunchBox before.
  6. I want to play Metroid Prime both with Dolphin, and sometimes in VR with the Dolphin VR fork. Which I have setup in LaunchBox. However my file for Metroid Prime is .rvz. Since the Dolphin VR emulator was last updated in 2016, it doesn't recognize the .rvz file type. So I have to have a .iso of the game as well. Simple Enough. But I want to have LaunchBox just have the single Gamecube platform and single entry for Metroid Prime, where I can select the different version of the game and launch it with the different version of Dolphin for VR. Is this possible at all? I really don't want to have a Gamecube and Gamecube VR platforms.
  7. Was in the middle of rebuilding a new LaunchBox setup, got the prompt to install the update and did. Now importing Roms crashes LaunchBox. Not sure why, but it's crashed at least a dozen times importing a curated Mame romset and a couple different systems.
  8. Yeah I have a premium license, I rarely ever use BigBox, but I guess that just will have to change if I want to use the controller more.
  9. I feel like I should know this, but I've been going through and redoing my LaunchBox setup to make it perfect. I've finally started dealing with the controller mapping and I was trying to swap between systems and games. Like jumping from SNES Super Mario World then jump to N64's Super Mario 64 as an example... and I can't figure out how to jump between the systems and games with just a controller. I know I can use the mouse, but I'd really like to just use the controller, and I went into the controller mapping settings, and I couldn't figure out a setting for it. Is this just not able to be done? Seems like a pretty basic one that should be in there and I feel like I'm just probably not seeing it somewhere.
  10. Sorry, but how do I actually add/create a playlist? I've been looking in the Tools menu and can't find it anywhere. I'm on 12.1
  11. Cool, thanks! Hopefully a Home screen is something that's been suggested before, and can be implemented, I think it would be a nice way to keep track of a few games I want to play at a time.
  12. Ok, but there is nothing like a home screen currently implemented, right? How would I go about making a playlist of recently played games? I think a Home Screen is something simple and basic, and would be nicer to see at the startup, than just the last selected platform
  13. It's been a while since I spent time in LaunchBox other than just playing games. I was wondering if there is a Home menu or screen to kinda display at the startup, one where it displays games that I've currently played, so I can get back into them quickly instead of having to go through the platform list and scroll through all the games. I'm not sure if this feature is already in LaunchBox/BigBox or not. If it is not, what I'm thinking of is kinda like Plex's home screen where it has currently watched/coming up next movies/TV and new added content for the libraries made. Hopefully this is already implemented and I just need to maybe make a change to my setup. I haven't really changed it up since like 2018
  14. Just installed it and it's working flawlessly! Thanks for the hard work and bringing this version back.
  15. So I've got a Nvidia Shield TV Pro (2017). I never deleted the app, so I went to install the new beta, and it would just fail installation. So I uninstalled the original app, and installed the new beta. It installed fine, but it is just sitting on the Initializing Folders. A couple errors popped up (Read-Only File System, and Object Reference not set) , and then just sat at the Initializing folders launch screen for the last half hour
  16. Wow, just saw that this port is coming back! That's great news! I still think LaunchBox is the best front end out there.
  17. I load up RetroArch. change Video driver to Vulkan, load up a GameCube game and go into the Quick Menu>Overrides, and select Save Core Override Then I load up RetroArch, change the Video Driver to GL, Load up a PSP game and go into the Quick Menu>Overrides, and select Save Core Override. Then I try and go back to the GameCube game and it won't launch, because RetroArch is still in GL mode, am I doing something wrong? Is there a way to specify in LaunchBox to use a specific core override or something like that?
  18. One issue that I've run into that I can't figure out how to resolve easily is, whenever I try to launch certain Systems in Launchbox, it requires the changing of the Video API driver. For example; I can launch most systems fine if the Video Driver is set to GL within Launchbox, but GL is an older API and it looks like Vulkan is now the prefered driver to use. Also, LaunchBox will not load up GameCube or Wii games with RetroArch in GL video driver mode, It has to be set to Vulkan. The thing is, if I set it to Vulkan, other systems, like PSP won't launch in Vulkan, it has to be set to GL for it to launch. Now I know everyone just says for GameCube/Wii, use the standalone Dolphin emulator, and I don't want to, I'd rather use the Dolphin core in RetroArch, and it works perfectly fine, it just needs to be set to Vulkan Video API for it to launch in LaunchBox. I just need to know how to properly set RetroArch/LaunchBox's settings so when I load up PSP games it will use the GL driver, and when I load up GameCube/Wii games it uses the Vulkan driver and everything loads perfectly like it used to before RetroArch/LaunchBox got all finicky with it's drivers.
  19. Ah ok, that makes sense. I already do that anyways without a dat file. I've never liked ClrMamePro or RomCenter's way of handeling games and renaming. It's honestly just easier for me to do it myself. Thanks for the info though, I figured it had to do with auditing or something like that.
  20. Sorry if this is a stupid question, but what do .dat files do exactly? I've always seen people stress over them all the time, but I never once have paid attention to any of it. I've always got the .iso file for the games I wanted and let it be at that. What is the importance of them?
  21. No there are no separate roms for MVS & AES. The original Neo Geo carts contained the same game, it was the hardware/bios that determined the version. So a MVS was the arcade hardware, the AES was the home console. You could take a Neo Geo cart out of the arcade cabinet, and put it in a AES machine and the machine would tell the game which version to basically run. The Bios is the important consideration. Use the UniBios and run whatever version you want.
  22. I'd honestly suggest going with Retroarch's Flycast core, Demul hasn't been updated in years, and the Flycast core seems to be semi-actively developed and way more easy to use
  23. Compatibility really is the only reason to keep them, but most cores a few megs, a couple can be a bit larger around maybe 200 megs, but if you are running out of space, deleting a few cores is the least of your worries. I personally just have all the cores downloaded and update them periodically. If one gets depreciated or something along the lines of that, I just move it into an Archived folder. I'd rather have a backup for whatever unseen circumstance, than have to go searching around for something when I didn't need to. Again, if you are running low on space, you need to invest in a bigger or secondary drive STAT. A 4 TB hard drive is pretty much chump change at this point.
  24. I'm excited to see how this version improves, but the main thing that I hope gets added more than anything else right now is a dark mode. Even a grey mode... anything other than blinding white really.
  25. Just bought it on my Shield and so far everything seems to be running extremely well. Thanks Jason for all your incredible work! I'll always mainly use the Windows version, but having Launchbox on my shield for when I travel for work will make hotel rooms just that much nicer.
