blp345
hi all, Im trying to get involved with snes9x, launchbox and bigbox. I can get bigbox working through my nvidia shield tv but having trouble getting my shield controller and wired xbox 360 controller to work with the snes9x but with no luck. I guess now i should purchase a new controller to get this working? What is the best controller to work with this setup pls? Many thanks BLP
damageinc86
I prefer authentic controllers into USB adapters if possible . Someone else posted about a hori fc commander if I recall . It looked pretty good for an all around controller

This is all theoretical, but I do have a shield and can give it a try tonight.
natemac00
But the Newer model of the XBOX One controllers uses bluetooth, so unlike the xbox 360 controllers and the first generations of the XBOX One controllers, you don't need a dongle if your PC already has bluetooth... and you can use it on the shield as well. That's the one I like. Edited October 3, 2017 by natemac00

natemac00
It’s not an install it’s a type of controller you have direct input and x input. Xbox and shield controllers are Xinput types of controllers

I know the stand alone can be a little funky with controller setup but nothing too far out of the ordinary, I recommend Retroarch and the Snes9x core in it if BSnes is too taxing. And it is I who loves the Hori Fight Commander but I have no idea how well it plays with an Nvidia Shield. For any games that doesn't require an analog stick it cannot be beat if you don't want to muck about with crappy d-pads and USB converters.
