jonbazookaboz
I'm at my wits end. I can run any of my cps2 roms on retroarch but they always fail in launchbox. Ive tried all the correct command lines, cores, emulators (fba, cps2, mame etc etc), rom sets. Nothing will work on launchbox. Again they work in retroarch. I have every other console and arcade game working fine. Any help greatly appreciated.
Lordmonkus
If you can provide some screen shots of your Edit Emulator window for Retroarch in Launchbox and the Associated Platforms window with the command line you are using for your CPS2 platform that would help us out in trying to troubleshoot this. CPS2 does work through Launchbox perfectly fine so my first guess since you say it works outside of Launchbox is that you have either a mistake in your platform name or the command line for that platform. jonbazookaboz
Hi thanks for helping me- the first 3 images are an eg of what I'm doing if I set the core manually-either with fba or fba2012cps2. The last image is when I set retroarch as the emulator and add the associated platforms. Neither method is working. Ive tried v0.2.97.39 and earlier sets- they all work fine in retroarch just not in launchbox. I don't know if I'm missing a command line parameter or doing something wrong. I have all my other platforms working fine
Lordmonkus
Ok, what's the exact core you are using in Retroarch to load your CPS-2 games ? My guess right now is you are actually using a different core in Retroarch on its own Just for reference this is my CPS-2 platform and emulators setup. jonbazookaboz
The .39 romset with the .key files I'm using works great on the fbalpha core on retroarch. My older sets work great on fba cps2 core. Ive just tried the exact same core (fba2012) with same command as you but no joy.
Lordmonkus
Whatever core you are using in Retroarch outside of Launchbox should be the one used in Launchbox and should work.
jonbazookaboz
like I said both the fbalpha core and the fba cps2 cores both work in retroarch- but wont play ball in launchbox. Ive been using alien v pred as a test rom and it works fine in both cores but not in launch. If I had hair id pull it out
jonbazookaboz
actually the fba2012 core works fine in retroarch too I just tested it.
Lordmonkus
Unless you moved your roms or using different roms from the ones you imported if your core in the command line parameters is correct it will work in Launchbox. Nothing in Launchbox itself will make your games not work. Edit: The 2012 FBA core is the one I use.
jonbazookaboz
I cant see what I'm missing
Lordmonkus
Try this core specifically: fbalpha2012_libretro.dll If your CPS-2 platform is a separate one make sure that the platform name is correctly matched. Match up with the way mine is in the screenshots above.
jonbazookaboz
Right I don't know what I done different but bingo!! got it working. Lordmonkus
Yeah the platform name in the associated platform window has to match the platform itself Glad you got it working.
