Launchbox broken? blames ps1?

ok so I tried to open my launchbox today and instead of opening up at all I got this message

 

 it appears that your launchbox/data/sony playstation/xml.file is corrupt. launchbox cannot continue. please try restoring a backup of the file from the backups folder in your launchbox root folder. Invalid character in given encoding lin 1 position 1 -

 

launchbox refuses to open up at all because of this message and ive never had it before and am unsure what I am meant to do to fix this problem

 

any help or advice would be great

Look in your Launchbox/Backups folder and find the most recent backup remove the date and copy it into Launchbox/Data/Platforms.

or you could fix the Invalid character in given encoding line 1 position 1 in sony playstation.xml if it's obvious.

my line 1 looks like this:

<?xml version="1.0" standalone="yes"?>
