Linking PC rig to TV in another room?

Anyone have luck linking PC in another room with LB running,  linked up to a TV with potentially 2 remote controllers? 

I've got a Firestick and Chromecast if you can do it with them. I could do with some controller suggestions too.

A lot of people gain success with steamlink... which cost sometimes less than 5 bucks

I thought the Steam Link only allowed streaming of games within the Steam library. Is this not true or there a workaround for this?

You can add anything on your system to steam as a "non steam game" Bigbox included of course and launch it from the steam interface.
