Mr. RetroLust Posted May 4, 2018 Posted May 4, 2018 I hope someone can help me point me in the right direction. I'm relatively new to mame and I figured most of it out. There is still one problem I can't seem to find on google as I don't know how to describe the menu button (forgive me, I'm Dutch ;)) of these controllers I use, namely the Logitech F310 joypads. I'd like to be able to map this middle/menu button which the PS3, PS4 and XBOX controllers have as well to name a few. I am able to map this button in RetroArch but I do wish to use Mame for many arcade games, anyone know more about this? Thank you for any help you can provide! Quote
Lordmonkus Posted May 4, 2018 Posted May 4, 2018 You can try setting this in the controller section of the Tab menu in Mame, not sure if Mame lets you bind anything to the "guide" button or not. 1 Quote

Thanks @Lordmonkus! Yes that is the problem i'm having, Mame doesn't seem to recognize the button which is surprising to me since the controllers have been around for a while as has Mame. But now I do know the name that is used for this button i'll try to google further, thanks again! Quote
Lordmonkus Posted May 4, 2018 Posted May 4, 2018 Yeah its a weird button than a lot of software doesn't like to touch. You could switch over to using the Mame core in RA if you want. Quote

Yeah I do love RetroArch a lot but I'd like to use the awesome artwork/bezel feature that as far as I can see only the standalone Mame has, or do you know a way this feature will work on RetroArch? I don't think the overlay alternative is a good alternative to the artwork feature since it lacks multiple choices and animation. Quote

I might have found the solution here on Launchbox itself but it seems quite a little study to get working but i'll try it out soon Quote
