knightCrawler Posted June 22, 2018 Posted June 22, 2018 The last update caused an error which said launchbox could not be renamed I guess it had something to do with the launchbox next update!!! Now on the launchbox folder there is just launchbox next but it will not open so how do I get launchbox nbext to open without having to reinstall all of my games and media? Thanks Quote
neil9000 Posted June 22, 2018 Posted June 22, 2018 Go into your Launchbox/Updates folder and install the newest beta or newest official release directly over your current install folder, it wont touch any of your games or settings just ovewrite the .exe and any files needed for the program to run. neil9000 Posted June 22, 2018 Posted June 22, 2018 No, there is a updates folder in the launchbox folder that will have the installers in it just pick the one you want and when you get to the part of the wizard asking where you want to install too install it directly on top of your current Launchbox folder. neil9000 Posted June 22, 2018 Posted June 22, 2018 Hmm I have not seen that error before, however it does look like you are installing another Launchbox inside of your Launchbox folder, your path is E:\Launchbox\Launchbox\Bigbox.exe is that correct? It looks like you will end up with another Launchbox folder inside your existing folder. If your Launchbox is on the root of your E drive then it just needs to be installed to E not E:\Launchbox. knightCrawler Posted June 22, 2018 Author Posted June 22, 2018 What if I download the newest version of launchbox then replaced all of the folders with the old folders? Will that affect launchbox next? Maybe I should just install the previous version of launchbox then replaced the folders then after Im when Im asked to update to launchbox next then I should do. knightCrawler Posted June 26, 2018 Author Posted June 26, 2018 Ok so I have it working again I just downloaded a new version and only copied video folder,themes, and images.. Before I was making a big mess now its working but at this time only using stable version of launchbox not the beta releases!!! Thanks for your help Quote
