breite07
Hello, I'm using MAMEUI .202. When I start Centipede from MAME, my X-Arcade trackball is recognized and works great. When I use Launchbox to start the same MAME program, I no longer have any control of my X-Arcade trackball. It doesn't respond at all. I've messed around with the input options within Launchbox/Bigbox, but can't seem to find any setting that will fix this issue. Thanks for any suggestions! breite07
Hello, When I launch a game in MameUI .202, it starts up right away. When I launch the same MamaUI .202 through Launchbox/Bigbox, I get a screen that shows data about the rom and then I have to hit a button to get into the actual game. Are there command line options I should be using with Mame? This might solve my trackball problem in my previous post as well but I don't know what the command line should be (if any). Thanks! Lordmonkus
I saw your other question but i'll ask you this here. Are you using RocketLauncher ?
breite07
I am not using RocketLauncher - just Launchbox/Bigbox.
Lordmonkus
Ok, that rules that out then. Is your mame.ini in the main install folder of Mame where the emulators executable is or is it in the /ini folder ? If it's in the /ini folder move it to the main folder where the executable is located.
breite07
It was in the /ini folder. I moved it to the main install folder and now the game starts immediately and I have full use of my trackball. One fix takes care of two problems! Thank you very much! Lordmonkus
No problem, glad it worked for you. For some reason or another MameUI doesn't like to load up properly with the mame.ini file in the /ini folder.
Retro808
I see you already have this fixed from another post and were advised to do the same. Leaving the steps below in case anyone else has the issue. If you are using MameUI as you said make sure your mame.ini file is located in the root folder of where you have the mame.exe. If it is located in the Ini folder copy and paste it into the main folder where the exe is located.
breite07
YES - that was the issue. THANKS!
Lordmonkus
Merged the thread since it was related and solved with the same fix.
joesbox
Did not work for me. The file I moved from the ini folder has trackball_device keyboard. I changed keyboard to mouse and that did not work either. I have an xtension control panel for my cab.

joesbox
So it turns out the ONE game I was trying was the problem. I matched my ini settings with my older version of Mame in Hyperspin and changed the mapping in Mame instead of the individual game and it still did not work, but then I tried centipede and it worked. I went back to Golden Tee and tried other year versions and everyone worked. Go Figure. LOL! Thanks for help.

Lordmonkus
Try changing the trackball_device to mouse, see if that works.
