Launchbox Drive Migration

Recommended Posts

Hello All,

I recently acquired a couple of new SSDs and am looking to migrate Launchbox, image metadata, emulators and roms to a new drive. I know that the application can be moved without issue, but I was looking for advice on how to quickly update the Emulator/Rom paths within the application. Is it recommended to just start fresh and remap everything? Does anyone have a guide/tutorial if there is a quick way to update the path information?

Emulators will have to re-pointed to manually in LB but rom paths can be changed using the "Change ROMs folder path" tool in the Tools menu, though this really only works if all the roms are in a single folder. If you have games in their own folder such as CD based games or SNES MSU1 stuff then you will want to use Notepad++ and its "find and replace all" tool to edit the platforms xml file.
