Move existing retroarch install into launchbox

Hey, just installed launchbox to see what everyone is talking about so.

I had a look at the official guide to install retroarch for launchbox but there where no instructions for putting an existing install in.

On retro arch I am using a 64bit installer variant for windows at the default location with no custom directory settings.

Go to Tools, Manage Emulators and then Add button.  Add Retroarch and point to your existing install.  LB runs whatever install you point it to.  You don't need to click the link to install since you have it already.  Just browse to Retroarch directory path and should have similar settings to below.

 

In the associated platforms tab you tell LB what core you are using:

It looks different for me. I can "check a box" for associated platform but it doesn't seem to want to allow me to specify a core. There is just a box that says a core is not associated but when I click on that it does nothing.

Locking this topic, as it's old, showing out-of-date windows and your comment doesn't look to be related to the OP.

I will say that if you click on core and there's nothing in that dropdown, it means that you either don't have your application path set properly to point to your RetroArch program, or that you have yet to download any cores inside of RetroArch.

If you need help with your specific issue, I'd suggest opening up a new post with as much detailed info about it as possible.
