Sega Naomi with Flycast

HI Forum,

I signed up a few days ago. to Launch Box, and so far I'm pretty impressed

I was just wondering if there is someone out there who has success with current setup of Sega Naomi games with flycast. Is there a walk through or run doc that someone can provide.

https://docs.libretro.com/library/flycast/

I've used the link above to try and understand the setup, but as a noob i'm not to sure if i got correct files in their respective places. Any help would be appreciated

Thank you again

I'm not sure if it's possible to convert lst/bin format to be compatible with flycast, but I doubt it is (or if it is, if it's easy to do).  I don't recall how hard it was to find naomi roms in the mame-style .zip format.  I don't think it was super difficult, but it's been a long time since i looked for those types of roms, so it might be harder than I recall.

They are all in a full current MAME set.

Thanks for the help again  @CDBlue  and  @Headrush69

I finally got it working in terms running the Naomi games.

But i'm not clear on something. When i imported the mame  folder to C:\ user\Launch Box folder. For the Naomi games like Marvel vs capcom 2 and others, it will not run in LB, even after i change the default  emulator from Mame64.exe  to Retroarch .

The Naomi games  will run no problem if i launch Retroarch outside of LB.  Manually opening Retorarch and  loading the core (flycast) and loading the content (the specific Naomi rom) from the mame rom folder .

Is there a way to separate the naomi roms  from the mame roms, so it knows to use Retroarch emulator (when i'm using LB). Or a working around which doesn't involve me quitting LB and launching Retroarch just to run a few Naomi games.

I'm not certain. When i downloaded my naomi/atomiswave set it was just for those two systems (ie. not bundled with other mame games).  So, I was able to import those games into their own systems in LB/BB and tell each to use Flycast via retroarch.  If you imported the entire system as Mame, then the only thing I can think of is maybe run a filter to just show the Naomi games (source = naomi.cpp maybe might work?), select those games then edit the emulator for those games in LB to tell them to use Retroarch/Flycast if that's possible.  Or, if needed select those games then select the export/copy rom files to new folder.  Then import that new folder as Sega Naomi (and have retroarch/Flycast associated to that Sega Naomi system).

I remember seeing some scripts in the past to extract the naomi roms from the MAME set, but I haven't been ab;e to find the link again.

A full proof method is to use CLRMamePro and it's rebuilder feature to quickly extract the naomi roms from a full MAME set.

Using the Set Information window in CLRMamePro, you select Naomi or Sammy, whichever set you want, point to your MAME set and then click Rebuild and within a few minutes you'll have a clean full set of only Naomi.

Did the bios files change?  I dumped the awbios.zip into retroarch/system/dc ... the bios zip contains bios0.ic23 and bios1.ic23  Can you confirm if I'm using the correct bios that go with the Mame zip roms for Atomiswave?

Check on the information screen in RetroArch to see if it has detected all required bios files.

the thing with that is that is you can have a file that is named correctly but be the wrong check sum and RetroArch will says its detected so if it says its detected but you can't get it to work still you will have to run a check and make sure it matches up with that info also.
