JesusMurphy
Hey Y'all, I'm fairly new around these forums. I've been working on my LB/BB setup for a few weeks now and am VERY pleased with it, only issue that I am trying to iron out is that I cannot get the track ball on my tank stick to work in-game. I have it working on the BB front end as a mouse, but once in a game (Golden Tee/Bowling) it does not work and the joysticks are used as control. Any ideas out there to get this working? Is it maybe in-game controls that need to be adjusted for each individual game? Is there a way to generally map it for all track ball games? I appreciate any input. Thanks. Retro808
In game hit Tab and then in the input for This Machine make sure the X analog is set to mouse. Memory might not be accurate, but I do remember needing to set that with my Tankstick. Depending on the Golden Tee game it might be Track X Analog or even Lightgun Track X Analog. You will know it when you see it.
FuriousPig
I am presuming you are referring to MAME. In which case @Retro808 is correct however there is a Global Option to enable mouse as a trackball device. Being a little old school with regards to MAME I use MAMEUI to set all those defaults up, it's quick & easy.
JesusMurphy
Retro808, Thanks for the quick response. I tried that route, went in and tried to change it, the X and Y Axis were set to Mouse X/ Mouse Y respectively by default, and when I pressed enter and tried to change it by spinning the track ball on those axis, nothing came up. The system did not seem to be reading anything even though the cursor was still moving around in the background. FuriousPig, thanks for that info as well. If you guys can think of anything else that may work, it would be greatly appreciated. Ill keep digging around on the web and hopefully something pops up. In the Mame user interface go to Advance Options and make sure you have Mouse set to On.
JesusMurphy
It worked!! The trackball control seems to be inverted, forward on the ball goes backwards in game. Any tips on fixing that? If not, I can keep messing around with it and try to figure it out. Either way, Retro808, you are a champ! Thank you very much!!

In the back of my mind there is a check box for inverting axis. Although I didn't spot it on a cursory glance. It could be set on a per game basis. I will have a better look tonight.

In MAME and configure inputs (game), under Analog Controls you can reverse there. 1
