frankiefurter Posted September 17, 2020 Share Posted September 17, 2020 just updated my install to 11.6 from 11.5 and now the launch process freezes at Populating Games then closes .. had similar issue last week b4 11.5 update. tried reinstalling 11.3 over it but same issue. now reinstalled 11.6 again and same issue where it wont load past populating games :{ man im going to stop these updating or look for a new FE if they are going to be this volatile Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Please try rebooting to make sure that's not the issue. If necessary, I can help you troubleshoot the issue if you PM a zip file of your LaunchBox\Data folder. Sorry for the trouble. Jason Carr Posted September 17, 2020 Share Posted September 17, 2020 @frankiefurter After reviewing your data files, I can confirm that it is unfortunately an issue with corrupted data. Usually this happens when the LaunchBox process is killed or similar. Your LaunchBox\Data\Platforms\Arcade.xml file is unfortunately corrupted. I haven't checked every file, but I'm guessing that's the only one. You should have data backups in your LaunchBox\Backups folder. Your best bet is to try restoring one of those data backups. But that's the reason for the backups, just in case that this happens, as you can't always prevent things like this from occurring. We do also recommend regular backups of your LaunchBox folder and the rest of the important data on your computer, as hard drives always die eventually.
