Ravioko
Right now I'm getting a bunch of games together to move into LaunchBox (not quite yet, waiting for a PC I ordered that will be dedicated to emulating to arrive), and I realized - how do I handle games with multiple discs? Right now I'm organizing my PS1 games. I have a folder named "Final Fantasy VII" ready to go, and in that folder all all the files for the 3 discs - a .bin and .cue file for (Disc 1), (Disc 2), (Disc 3). Does LaunchBox know that it's just 1 game? Does it allow me to choose which disc to launch? Meanwhile, I have Resident Evil 2, where it's labeled (Leon Disc) and (Claire Disc) - should those be changed to (Disc 1) and (Disc 2)? Will the same still apply, where it will let me choose which disk I'm launching from a single game? Or should I be importing each disc as it's own game? Thanks! DeadVoivod
I have the Leon and Claire discs as two separate entries. Makes sense to me. For multiple disc games, put them in one folder like you did and generate a m3u file. Now in Launchbox import the m3u file as game. Here are 2 pictures, one of my FFVII folder and one of the contents of the m3u file. Notice that I'm using pbp files, and not the cue/bin combination. When importing games with multiple discs by default the importer will combine all the discs into a single game. The discs are brought in as an Additional Application to the game so that you can start the game with any disc. If your emulator supports m3u you can check the m3u checkbox in Manage Emulators and then when you start the game from LaunchBox we create a m3u with the the paths to all the discs in it and then pass that to your emulator to allow for disc swapping. tribe fan
My PSX game are all zipped and keep importing as multiple entries for multi disc games. Here's an example breakdown of a zipped game: Final Fantasy IX (USA) (Disc 1) (Rev 1).zip - Final Fantasy IX (USA) (Disc 1) (Rev 1).bin - Final Fantasy IX (USA) (Disc 1) (Rev 1).cue Would I be better off unzipping the files? tribe fan
Also, do I need to check the box "Combine ROMs with matching titles into a single game?"
C-Beats
Bin/Cue roms should never be zipped. If you want a single file you'd want to convert them to ISO or CHD (latter being preferred if the emulator supports it). Once you have them zipped import the file (import ONLY the .cue file, can use file explorer to search for *.cue and then drag/drop to LaunchBox). When running the import check the combine roms checkbox. If your emulator supports M3U files make sure in Edit Emulator to enable it and LaunchBox will open the game using a m3u file that points to each disk so you can swap discs inside of the emulator correctly.
