Updating RetroArch

I am running RetroArch ver 1.8.0 is there a tutorial on how to update to the latest version

I am using Stellar to update RetroArch and Cores from the Nightly

I was just wondering why over the time the update program feature has not been built into RA itself straight away?

Their reasoning was always because of bandwidth issues. If there was an easy update button in RA itself then people would have the tendency to just do it all the time whether they needed to or not and that would use up a lot more server bandwidth which costs money.

Would be nice for handhelds though.
