PJCA2
Hi, I Installed 11.15 and now importing roms for Sega Saturn, MaME and Genesis says, 0 files imported. I added each of the roms manually with Ctrl-N, set the launch, name and meta data -game is present and works. Never had this happen before version 11.15, my collection has 16747 games across 8 consoles, 2 handhelds, MaME, atomiswave and Sega Model 2/3. Deleted a PSP game and then tried add it and that worked fine. Hercules for Genesis, Vcop 1 & 2 for MaME gave me this error, both added fine manually. There were a few others but I cant recall as I'm tying this. It was around 6-7 in total. (All new additions) I have screenshots, but I think everyone knows the process of importing roms and the final dialog box which says, x game(s) imported or 0 games imported. (I can add them if necessary)

If what you are trying to import are sequels or different regions of a already imported game i would check by right clicking a game, and seeing if its been combined with another game. Also you can check the box in the wizard to force import duplicate roms and see if that then works.
PJCA2
Hi, I have made a 1m32s video for you. I delete from Launchbox, Virtua Cop, then choose to import the file, and go through that process, then it ends with no game imported and the error described earlier. I then Ctrl-N & proceed to add the file manually, set the meta data, launch parameters and the emulator parameters. Doing it manually as you will see works fine. Here is a link for you to review. This is a problem with different consoles, as well as single game or multiple game import. Doing it manual works every time.

This is a problem with different consoles, as well as single game or multiple game import. Doing it manual works every time. At 19 seconds you need to specify a platform to scrape it as, you just left it blank, whereas when you did it the manual way you picked the game from the dropdown with that platform information already there. The database scraper when importing works differently to the manual way you showed, the importer wizard needs you to set a "scrape as" as you have a custom platform name, that "scrape as" should be set to arcade, we need to know the platform the game is for so we can download the correct metadata and images. Also in this case as you have entered no platform it could be seen as a duplicate if you have the same game in another platform, for example Saturn. PJCA2
Hi, I have done the same process as in the video and set the "scrape as" to Arcade, the same problem exists. I tried setting "scrape as" to Sega CD -same thing, does not work. I can make you another video however it is somewhat of a waste of time as all I did is as you directed, at 19 second mark I set the "scrape as". If you would like to see a new video of the same process, just with that 1 setting set, I can make it for you -takes about 5 minutes. wallmachine
Seems like the same issue in the following threads. https://forums.launchbox-app.com/topic/62413-importing-roms-is-inconsistent-not-working-properly/ https://forums.launchbox-app.com/topic/62195-launchbox-doesnt-import-all-games-even-checking-import-duplicates/
PJCA2
Hi, Yes, this looks related. Something is buggy with the program for it to behave this way. Importing many times 706 games and getting a few missing each time, or me importing 1-2 games and it saying 0. I only experienced this after upgrading to 11.15, so I figured since that is all that changed, that must be the problem -but its not as you are using earlier versions with similar import issues. As mentioned, if I do exactly the same process as the video I provided earlier, with PSP game "50 cent bullet proof", it works fine, delete the game, then import it -just fine. Do that with Genesis game Hercules -0 files to import, do that with Virtua cop 1 or 2 in MAME, 0 files to import. After seeing your video, I did a quick check on my own setup to see if it imported everything. PSP rom files 120, launchbox database 119 (Imported the missing game manually 120/120) SNES rom files 788 launchbox database 730 (I see around 15 filename duplicates in the folder, I'll clean this up -still it missed a lot) (This is going to be the same as my genesis console below) PS2 rom files 73 launchbox database 73 Sega Genesis (Edit in BOLD/Italic) 906 launchbox 867 (Deleted all duplicates 25 in total, just a quick look at the folder, 100% there are not 75 duplicates, although this folder is messy and needs to be cleaned up) I have gone through alphabetically up to end of F and found 11 games not imported which did import manually. So there is a discrepancy of 39 down from 75, the missing games I will import manually and get it to be 906 / 906. Thanks wallmachine for your links. We can say confidently that the program does not import 100% perfectly every time, in my genesis console it missed 50 of 906 which is an error rate of 5.52% My PS1 folder is also different to the imported launchbox database. Fixed this, imported 1 game manually, now is 81/81 The rest of my consoles, handhelds & arcade systems are probably the same -some missing games. Ill do a thorough look through my whole setup at some stage -that is going to take some time. Edited August 10, 2021 by PJCA2
