I understand that in order to import playstation games you need to import the .cue file, if the game has multiple discs do you need to import every cue file? For example, a four disc game must import four cue files?

Yes, as each cue will point to the appropriate disc number.

Okay, how do I set up multiple .cue files? When I select "edit," "edit metadata," and go to "launching" I only see the option to select one file at a time. Do I just quit the game and change which .cue file launchbox looks at when I get to the next disc?

Disc swapping is handled by the emulator, not Launchbox, so the process will depend on the emulator you use. You can set Launchbox to create a m3u file at launch which is essentially a playlist of all the discs, but the emulator needs to support that file type to start with. Most emulators should have a "open disc tray" option and another option to choose another file and then a "close disc tray" option, at least retroarch does, i cant speak to standalone emulators there as i dont bother with them.

What is a m3u file? Is it that "play version" option I see when I right click on the game? That pulls up every disk in a multi disk playstation game.

Also additional note, I wasn't able to get my other playstation game with multiple disks to have all disk .cue files under the "play version" selection like my first game so I added the folder instead of the file and I got two games out of it. One looks like all four of my .cue files the other is four .ecm files. The game made of four .cue files doesn't open in Launchbox but the game made of four .ecm files does.

No, as i said its a playlist file, it simply lists the discs you have, and that is parsed to the emulator instead of a single discs cue file.

ECM files are not correct file types, you need to "un-ecm" them, also you only import the cue files not anything else. To be honest it sounds like you have awful roms there, bad format, and possibly incorrect cue files to go with them.

There is a new plugin developed by one of our community members that utilizes chdman to convert bin/cue files to chd. Converting to chd will give you a single game file and it'll be about 60% the size of the original files. (It's a lossless compression kinda like FLAC)

Thank you, I will keep that in mind if I have trouble with the second disc. Since I have a habit of screwing things up I will save the tinkering with Launchbox as plan b. But if I need to I just need to move the extension file somewhere in lauchbox. Do you happen to know where?

Tap on the image that I linked, that'll take you to the forum post with all the instructions and info you need. Here is the link https://forums.launchbox-app.com/files/file/3421-bulk-convert-cuebin-or-files-other-than-bin-to-chd/

Edit: as mentioned, you'll need m3u files so that each disk is in a playlist
