benmoot Posted May 15, 2022 Posted May 15, 2022 Yesterday I put about 5 hours into Grandia on the Sony Playstation and this is the time that shows up in Launchbox. Can someone enlighten me on how this playtime is calculated? Is it amount of time the window is open and active, does it borrow from Retroarch's own information log? I'd also had the Playtime tracker plug in from prior to when Launchbox started tracking it on it's own and it reported I had 5 hours, 10 minutes, much closer to what I suspect the actual time was. I've since uninstalled it in case it was causing conflict, but even after, I played some more of Grandia today, maybe 20 minutes, and Launchbox's playtime has not updated. Quote
C-Beats Posted May 16, 2022 Posted May 16, 2022 LaunchBox may have gotten focus while playing which stops the timer. Quote
benmoot Posted May 17, 2022 Author Posted May 17, 2022 Ah, okay, that may be it. So if the Window is out of focus, it stops the timer, correct, with any application that's focused instead? Quote

AustNerevar Posted January 9, 2023 Posted January 9, 2023 Sorry to resurrect this, but why is this the way play tracking works? I have plenty of games that can be idle systems I check in with while I'm working (Stellaris immediately comes to mind). Quote
