i recently converted from hyperspin to full version of LaunchBox.

In HS I had a few custom collections such as "Street Fighter" games with its own menu. So the menu had ONLY street fighter games.

Is this possible with Launchbox?

Apologies in advance if this is a common thing but i searched the forums and couldn't find this exact scenario.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, create a "playlist" and add the games you want to see in that particular playlist. You can also create playlists that auto generate off a bunch of different parameters, one for ex is recently played

Yeah, you just toss them all in a playlist and then you can either use Playlist view to see only playlists, add the playlist to your Platforms view, or add the playlist to Platform Category view and access it from there

I checked out tutorials on playlists ...

Im not sure that is what i want to achieve.

Does LB support this:
See picture of Street Fighter collection
I guess this is called a "hacked collection" ?

Does LB support this?

Yes, LB supports this. That is exactly what playlists are. A collection of games that meet specific parameters you set in the playlist.

If you want a Street Fighter Collection playlist you just need to make one.

In LB right click in the left hand pane over a platform name. Choose >Add >New Playlist

Fill out the Details Tab how you want.

Click on "Auto-Populate" tab and check the box there. This will not open the drop down options for you to set what ever specific you want to make what ever collection of games you are looking for. Making it an auto-populate playlist means anytime you add a new game that meets the parameters you set LB will be sure to add it to that playlist.

Then in the "Parents" tab you can dictate where in LB/BB you want each playlist to show up.

Thank You -

I saw a few videos on specific platforms like "super Nintendo" and then within that platform it showed how to break out "fighting games"  "sports games"  etc ... but couldn't find anything specifically to have what i am trying to achieve.

I will try this - and thanks a million for responding!!!

Many thanks

ok so i see the play list but how do i add the games to the play list?

Also can the play list be added to the main menu in Big Box?

So in BB when i scroll through my platforms i would want to see SNES, Nintendo, Atari etc... and then also have a Street Fighter- or do i always have to go to view play lists?

Right click the game you want to add and then go to Edit > Add to Playlist > Street Fighter

To put the game in the platform list simply right click that playlist and hit Edit to enter the Edit Window. On the bottom of the first tab is a check box that will place the playlist in the platform list. Check that and press OK

This is because that "Games" tab is showing all your SNES games added to the playlist since you only told the playlist to include "Platform" = "Super Nintendo Entertainment System". So it did only that.

You would need to add another condition to tell it to add games with "Street Fighter" in the "Title" or in the "Series". You can add more than one condition to refine how the list pulls.

Example of a simple Street Fighter Collection that pulls from all platforms: (You can see it pulled games from all different platforms)

When you edit the Playlist....In the "Images" box click on the "+" symbol. Add your image and select the image type it is.
