I have imported the Resident Evil: HD Remaster from Steam to Launchbox. It has been attributed to the 1996 Windows version of the game incorrectly. I cannot alter the details in the "edit metadata" section. I pressed the X to clear the ID and searched the box and all it came up with was the same result. The game is obviously in the Launchbox database. Searching in the box doesn't yield any other results no matter what I put in. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks.

If you delete the LB DB Game ID in the metadata field and just enter "Resident" and search does bring up all version available for you to select the right one?

No. It doesn't do that. I feel like I'm going crazy. It seems so simple. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I've tried so many things. I've included a video of what happens.

Try going into LB tools and forcing a metadata update. Just tested using only “Resident” and it easily brought it up within the returned options.

I tried that and nothing happened. It seems to be happening only with Steam games.

This has the details of the 1996 and 2016 versions mixed up.

I'm thinking this is unrelated to the main issue your thread here describes and what retro linked you to. that entry you linked looks to just be a human error, as in, someone had to actually submit that description in the "overview". otherwise at a glance the rest of the info appears correct. this is something that a DB user would need to submit for correction and get enough approvals, not that it would be an issue as it's clearly wrong. I just made the submission myself, so that will be corrected shortly when enough users give it the thumbs up!

I'm having the opposite issue. I have both RE1(1996) and RE1:HD Remaster from 2015 and they both scrape as the 2015 version. I see that LB Database has the 1996 version for Windows, but it won't show up in the list when I click on the X. Also, I have both Resident Evil 2 games, and the RE2 Remake is scraping the 1998 metadata, but has the Remake art attached. The 1998 version has the right metadata, but is scraping the Remake for art. I got all them on Steam. The original trilogy released earlier this year.

It seems like LB has problems with the Resident Evil series in general. Resident Evil 3 Nemesis and the Remake are imported with the proper media though.

Anyways, to address this issue for anyone interested, Import the games manually by drag and dropping the exe files straight to Launchbox and put the proper name in at the end of installation options. LB will download all the correct media and fill in all the correct metadata.
