More 13.19 Issues

Since upgrading the 13.19, I’ve experienced the following issues:

1. Random lockups and crashes in BigBox. App will often just freeze and I get the Windows message that BigBox stopped responding, asking me to quit or continue waiting.

2. I have a 7” screen in my cab that I use as a marquee screen, and while the screen works, Launchbox/BigBox will no longer display any marquees on it. It just displays the Windows desktop on that screen. I’m not using the Thirdscreen plug in, just the native Bigbox capability to make screen 2 the marquee screen.

3.Related to #2 above, I tried using the Thirdscreen plugin, and downloaded the latest version which was updated to work with the updated .NET in 13.19. But after copying it to the plugins folder, when Launchboxt runs, it kicks out all kinds of errors related to the Thirdscreen plugin dlls, so I had to remove it.

I restored my 13.18 backup and all of the above issues disappeared and everything works fine the way it did prior to upgrading to 13.19,

Yeah there are tons of reports of all kinds of issues, for me I get random crashes, and the weirdest issue was entering platform categories would go into a random game's detail page. So I can't even get into a gamelist view. This is in Hypermax theme.. most likely a theme specific issue. I would stick with 13.18 for now...

Hi there, thanks for the report and sorry for the issues here.

Regarding Big Box lockups, we are tracking a known issue bug report which has some workaround that might help here. Can you please give it a try and let us know if that helps with the freezing situation

The TLDR is to try changing Big Box's  Video Playback Engine from VLC to Windows Media Player
