sbslc2017 Posted yesterday at 02:53 PM Posted yesterday at 02:53 PM Most of the tiger electronic LCD games seem to be under the Nintedo Game and Watch platform. I think Tiger is important enough to warrant it's own platform (not Game.com). What do people think? Quote

Whether to create a unique platform for each, put them in a grab bag platform, include them at all (since an argument could be made that they are toys, not video games). Not sure a decision has been came to on the matter. If one doesn't exist already I'd strongly suggest requesting it on the feedback site so people can chime in there. I know these games always seem to be pretty polarizing in the community so would be nice to have a more organized place to weigh any pros and cons on the matter. 1 Quote
JoeViking245 Posted yesterday at 03:27 PM Posted yesterday at 03:27 PM Wouldn't having a "Tiger Electrons" platform be like having a "Nintendo" platform? Too broad? i.e. "Tiger R-Zone" and "Tiger Game.com" would make sense. (comparing to " Nintendo Virtual Boy", " Nintendo Game Boy" and "Nintendo Game Boy Color") Quote
sbslc2017 Posted 18 hours ago Author Posted 18 hours ago (edited) Just to clarify, I was asking about a platform for the Tiger handheld LCD games specifically (not everything published by Tiger). There's already a Nintendo Game and Watch Platform, so there's a precedent for including LCD games. Tiger game.com is a different platform altogether and shouldn't be lumped together with the Tiger LCD games. A bunch of the Tiger electronics LCD titles that have already been "simulated" in MAME have also already been added to the Launchbox database (see Double Dragon) under the Nintendo Game and Watch platform. I think that lumping the Tiger titles and Nintendo titles under Nintendo Game and Watch is not proper. You can do one of the following: relabel the "Nintendo Game and Watch" platform as something like "Handheld LCD titles" and then include all LCD titles; you can have a separate platform for the Tiger LCD titles as they were arguably just as important to the LCD genre as Nintendo was; or you can exclude all LCD games completely as many would argue that they are toys. Seeing how many Tiger titles are already simulated in MAME and have already made it in to the database, I don't think it's too much to ask for a separate platform Edited 14 hours ago by sbslc2017 1 Quote

That makes more sense. Sorry, I was going off the subject line of the thread. The feedback site (as C-Beats mentioned) would be perfect for this request. And be sure to post a link to it once vetted so others can upvote it. Quote
