Mudkip97 Posted yesterday at 07:52 AM Posted yesterday at 07:52 AM So I'm not trying to emulate a Naomi Arcade game, however I am trying to extract models from a game called World Kicks. Unfortunately for some reason every guide online has me use a .chd or .gdi file however the rom I have has: -A couple of .bin files -.ic31 file -a .bios file -A bunch of .ic27 files -.ipl file -A few files with the .4(varied letter) files Dunno what to do with these or how to get to what I want to achieve. JoeViking245 Posted yesterday at 01:04 PM Posted yesterday at 01:04 PM I don't know anything about extracting "models" from a ROM. But if you were open/expand the compressed chd or gdi file, my guess is you'll find the 43 some-odd files you're seeing in your zip. But the game is a Namco (Sega Naomi) cart. Not a disc. So not sure why "they" would mention chd or gdi. Quote
JoeViking245 Posted 20 hours ago Posted 20 hours ago TBH, I think you need to post the question on one of the guides you found. What [I think] you're asking to do is unzip/extract/uncompress the contents of wldkicks.zip [re]compress the extracted files into a chd (short for Compressed Hunks of Data) file which you might be able to use chdman that comes with the MAME binaries then extract the "models" that are in the chd that you just created (which is possibly redundant to the 1st step) which might be [some of] the files you extracted earlier But that's all just a guess.
