I think I found a potential bug in the MAME import wizard. I recently update my MAME 0.274 to 0.286. During that process I changed directories structures.

I used to have z:\games\MAME_0.274\mamegame.zip I switched to z:\games\MAME\mamegame.zip I reran the import wizard and chose the upgrade option and pointed to the new directory.

It did get a lot of the games correct. But about 1200 of them it changed to z:\games\MAME\MAME_0.274\mamegame.zip. I was able to manually hack the arcade.xml to fix it. But if you change directories during the upgrade it doesnt seem to get everything correct.

What was weird about this is it caused it to fail in a weird way. Since I updated MAME to point to the directory where the ROMs where at some games would still work. I assuming when it initially failed it just started parsing the directory structure it knew about to try and locate the ROM. Other times it would just crash MAME and nothing would happen.

I am having Major problems with LaunchBox.  I have a prepared drive with LaunchBox games on it.  Filled with many different Consoles, and I have a couple of Windows 3.0 and dos collections, but recently for some unknown reason, they were pulled off of that drive onto my 😄 drive and I don't know why?  Also I have 2 different versions of LaunchBox because some of the games are hooked in through rocket launcher.  Which I didn't prepare the drive  but I don't want to break the setup.  but Is Rocket Launcher still required to use to unzip playstation games?  Or does retroarch have iti's own extraction setup, or do I throw winrar, which I bought a copy of that have a better unzip protocol.  So much to know?  But getting past that Launch Box is forever to looking for imported roms and will never stop and is continually giving me an error message that it is looking to update roms and that it will not hand back control to me until it has finished processing, which it never does, so I am unable to import any roms.   I have tried flagging each computer on the 😧 drive to not import anything but I can find where the process is being generated from.  I recently figured out how to use software lists for Mame/Mess but I can't get the process to stop to allow me to add and setup these computers.  Please Help I hope I make sense.  Launchbox is run as 2 seperate versions one on the consoles side, and one on the computer side.

Is it safe to update cores without getting my sytems wrecked.  I have a Drive setup with the Console games and some of them use Rocket Launcher to unzip the Files, Is that now obsolete?  Does LaunchBox take care of that when you create an emulator?  I have never updated the Emulators on that drive because I am afraid of breaking the config setup.  Is it safe to update my console cores with retroarch without wrecking the RocketLauncher setup?   Also it's setup to use Hyperspin, but some how a section of that got broke so I can't get a specific game to load.  and I know games have to be named exact and that seems like a complicated thing to fix if it goes bad.  Any thoughts?  Where should I begin.  I have some ideas? but How do I investigate?  Thanks so much.
