masterfulmethods Posted yesterday at 10:29 PM Posted yesterday at 10:29 PM Hello all. I'm having an issue in BigBox where after updating, the arrangement of metadata while browsing games is changed to where I cannot see the gameplay videos (they are still playing, I can hear them when switching games). This happened when I updated to 13.27, so I rolled back to 13.26, and it happened again updating to version 14.0. I have tried restarting, switching themes / switching views and switching back again, but that unfortunately does not change anything. I use the CriticalZoneV2-Default theme, with the Wall View 4. I've attached some screenshots: "BB Game View.jpg" shows what I'm talking about. the video should be in the lower left, but now there's just a large image of the game rating logo. "BB Theme Settings.jpg" shows my theme/view settings. Quote

masterfulmethods Posted 23 hours ago Author Posted 23 hours ago The display is set to 100%, yes. It's a 4K TV, but i've set the resolution to 1080p, and scale to 100% because 4K+scaling has caused other visual issues before. Quote
Maddoc1007 Posted 22 hours ago Posted 22 hours ago I just checked the views in the CriticalZone v2 default theme folder and there is no Wall View 4 xaml in that folder so you must have a modified version of that theme installed? Quote
masterfulmethods Posted 21 hours ago Author Posted 21 hours ago (edited) I don't think it's modified. I see the same thing as you @Maddoc1007 on my install, just 1 WallGamesView.xaml. BigBox shows 4 different 'Wall View' views though, and I can switch back and forth between them, so it must still be referencing those views from somewhere. Unless updating Launchbox changed it. Does updating Launchbox update that theme (I believe that's the default BigBox theme, right?). The timestamp shows 2024 though. Edited 21 hours ago by masterfulmethods additional info Quote
JoeViking245 Posted 20 hours ago Posted 20 hours ago @masterfulmethods Try; Edit ..\LaunchBox\Themes\CriticalZoneV2 - Default\ThemeSettings.xml Change the first 2 elements' values <ForceGamesDisableBackgroundVideos>false</ForceGamesDisableBackgroundVideos> <ForceGamesEnableBackgroundVideos>true</ForceGamesEnableBackgroundVideos> Start Big Box Quote
Maddoc1007 Posted 20 hours ago Posted 20 hours ago What it means is that if the view xamls are not in the theme folder then Bigbox cannot use that, and what you are hearing in the background is probaly a view from the default theme. You will have to use one of the views in Bigbox that is in the theme folder, as Bigbox can only show xaml views in the view folder that come with the specific theme you are useing. Quote
masterfulmethods Posted 18 hours ago Author Posted 18 hours ago (edited) @JoeViking245 Unfortunately that change did not work for the "CriticalZoneV2 - Default" theme. I did try switching to the "Default" theme, it works for that one. That's the only theme it seems that view works on. Edited 18 hours ago by masterfulmethods Quote

Did you make the 2 changes with BB closed, saved them, then opened BB? Either way, it didn't look very good on my end. Namely, the video was offset to the left. And the rating image being cut off. Like @Maddoc1007 said, CZ-v2 doesn't [appear to] have a Wall4GamesView.xaml view file. I believe what's supposed to happen in that case is it will load "the view" from the Default theme [as a backup]. As you can see, these 2 "different" views look.. well different. So no idea where CZ2 is getting it from. If you want to use CZ2 and are ok with the Default's Wall-4 view, what you can do is: Set your theme to CriticalZoneV2 - Default Map a key (or controller button) to Switch Theme Go into Game View (aka select a platform) Press the key/button you mapped Select Default Assuming it was set to the Wall-4 view, you'll now see the Default Wall-4. The caveat is you need to do this for each platform. I couldn't see a way to do it automagically for all platforms. But admittedly I didn't look too hard. And also, I'm not a theme guy. Quote
