Won't Update

I'm using 14.0 but not getting a notification about the new update with the smart reader and new shutdown features or whatever. How can I update? When I check for an update it says I'm up to date.

LaunchBox 14.0 is the latest build. As far as I'm aware there is no follow on release (official or beta) yet.

You can read about these updated features in v14.0 by going into Menu - Help - Welcome

Oh, so 14.0 is the update. 

 

I just made an EmuMovies account but there's no option for manuals. Lots of other options but not manuals.

Depends on where you're looking.  If you're bulk downloading media, it will [generically] be an option in the EmuMovies section.  If you're editing a single game, the EmuMovies tab will only list the assets it has for that game. aka, not all games have manuals.

I just selected 298 N64 games at once. No manuals. That can't be right.

Assuming you went through Tools < Download < Update Metadata and Media for Selected Games..., there was the checkbox option for Manuals in the EmuMovies section. Correct?

No. It had all kinds of other stuff but no manuals. I've looked multiple times. I saw fanart, marquees, magazine ads, boxart, screenshots.... no manuals

You get the EmuMovies window. Correct?

Yes. I now just tried 265 Dreamcast games. Same thing. And again, I did make an account with EM

Can you share a screenshot of that emumovies window that doesn't have the Manual checkbox?

Yeah, I clicked Configure EmuMovies and it did its thing.

Looks like you also don't have access to videos either.

Is your EmuMovies account a paid account? Or a free one?

Free. Not worth it then. I can see manuals on Archive.org for free. I just wanted to do it in Launchbox. Hell, I could probably download and add them myself, they just won't have the page-turning animations.
