About This File

So I just built a custom Bioshock-themed arcade cabinet and wanted to deck it out with a custom BigBox theme for game browsing. There wasn't one on here so I ended up making one myself thanks to the awesome Community tool. Just wanted to share this for anyone else interested!

  • Imported fonts from Bioshock
  • Comes with the in-game piano rolls for Select and Back sounds
  • Highlighting around selected option on systems/text view
  • BigBox main menu also has custom selector seen from the main menu on Bioshock

I won't be updating this or anything, just feel free to use however! :)

Installation Instruction:

  1. Download "Bioshock - BigBox Theme" zip file
  2. Extract the zip into your Launchbox themes folder i.e. ".../Launchbox/Themes" where the folder "Bioshock" is directly a child of the "Themes" folder
  3. Install fonts inside the "fonts" folder
  4. Download "Bioshock - Sounds" zip file
  5. Extract the zip into your "Launchbox/Sounds" folder
  6. After launching BigBox, Go to Main Menu, Manage Themes, and "Bioshock" as Apply Main Theme
  7. Go to Options > Sounds > Soundpack  and select "Bioshock"

Also here's some pics of the arcade cabinet for fun

This looks kool, however whenever I try to use it, BigBox crashes. Not sure what's the issue.

Hmm, this is my first time doing this so not sure what it could be. I do see a .txt in there that says to ensure using BixBox 10.0 or later.
Maybe it's the fonts in the "fonts" folder? Try double-clicking all font files in there to have them installed globally on the computer before loading. Not sure how BigBox handles those files when dropping the zip in directly. LMK!

Its looking for images in a path that i assume is on your PC and not anything to do with the theme. Images the theme uses should be in the theme folder. It cant find those images as they are on your PC and not ours so Bigbox throws errors and returns to the default theme.

Ohh okay that's weird. So that would be the COMMUNITY tool zip that needs to be loaded into the Theme Creator tool. It was just there if wanted for editing. The real zip is the "Bioshock - BigBox Theme" zip which should come with the images. Let me edit the description :)

The problem is the paths are wrong, you have them coded to a path on your C drive, nobody else has that path other than you, so it wont work for anyone else im afraid. Those paths should be directly inside the themes folder, and i do see the images in F:\LaunchBox\Themes\Bioshock\Media\Wallpaper, however your code is looking for them in C\Users\MAME\Desktop\Community Theme Creator............etc, so it cant find them.

Okay I think I got everything fixed you guys...Also realized that the sounds aren't included in that Themes zip.

So make sure to redownload the Theme zip again and the new Sounds zip and should be good to go!

Could you give more info about the cabinet, I really like what you did with this whole build. I'm planning on doing my first cabinet, and I wanted to see what bits you got and where.
