About This File

About:
Use this plugin to quickly convert from a Hyperspin collection to a Launchbox playlist. Choose a Hyperspin database XML file and this program will compare the rom names for all games in the Hyperspin XML file to the rom names for all of your installed Launchbox games. Any games with matching rom names will be added to the new Launchbox playlist.

Installation:

  1. Copy RB_CreatePlaylistFromHyperspinXML.dll to the LaunchBox/Plugins folder.
  2. Restart Launchbox.

Usage:

  1. In Launchbox, select Tools->"Create playlist from Hyperspin XML" from the dropdown system menu.
  2. Select the Hyperspin XML file to import from.
  3. Choose which Launchbox platforms to pull games from.
  4. Enter a name for the new Launchbox playlist.
  5. Click "Create Playlist".

Update History:

1.0.1
- Added the option to specify which platform(s) to search.
- Added option to include hidden games.
- Added option to include broken games.

1.0.2
- Available platforms are now listed in alphabetical order.

Hi,

Is there anyway you can add an option to just pull the roms from a selected system ?

Reason is, as you stated it will pull every rom (no matter what collection) with the same name that is in the xml and with Hyperspin that is a lot with the same name, as I found when using it :)

Thanks

Good point. I'll add an option to choose which platform(s) you want to search.

@zugswang v1.0.1 now lets you choose one or more platforms to pull from. When I have a chance I'll also add duplicate detection and prompt the user to resolve any conflicts.

Now works perfectly.

Only thing that could now improve it is if the platforms were A-Z rather than listed randomly.

Thanks again for the great plugin.

FYI, You do need to have the roms in your sets to make this work.

This creates playlists from games you already have in your setup

I haven't tried it in a while but it should be. Are you having issues with it?

No, I havent tried it yet. I have a Hyperson setup on a drive that I would love to import to LB. I would rather use LB as its much simpler. I am trying to find documenation on doing a full migration but cant seem to find anything. It wouldve been fantastic if LB had an option to import Hyperspin. Your plugin is the only option I have found. Any intel on this process would be much appriated. Thx! 😀

Also, what are possible issues that can arise from the plugin if any? This plugin just adds the playlist without chaning any other files in LB?
